Good location in Wellington. Opposite the supermarket and near te papa museum. Good sized room (6 bed female dorm), ghds and hairdryer in bathroom. Showers were good. Plenty space in the kitchen. WiFi is pretty good and free too.

I stayed here for four days in a female only dorm and had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful with directions and advice for things like sim cards or nearby stores. The facilities were very well maintained and cleaned daily, so it was very comfortable. Additional features I appreciated were: a bicycle storage area (with swipe access),... More

Yha is centrally located in Wellington to everything and is an ideally built premise for school trips. Rooms are tidy and ours equipped with an ensuite was very clean. Warm, quiet of traffic noise and although sound does travel easily from downstairs common rooms, is define try non Interfering to a good Nights sleep. A fantastic supermarket next door open... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in May. The location was great for central Wellington, staff were helpful and friendly and facilities were clean. Only downside was the street noise on Saturday kept us awake which could be solved with better window glazing but obviously is to be expected in the centre of a city.

Hey NomadicKiwi1, Thank you staying with us during your time in the Capitol. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I’ll pass on your kind words to our reception and housekeeping teams. Being a centrally-located hostel does come with some central city noise. Rest assured, we have taken measures to reduce city noise with double glazing and noise-reduction glass on most windows.... We stayed at this hotel and found the staff to be very professional and friendly. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Would recommend this hotel to other travelers looking for a hotel in Hamilton

Easily one of the best hostels I have stayed in on my travels. Friendly staff, warm showers, comfortable beds, big, clean kitchens with plenty of equipment, great location and plenty of facilities such as pool, free wifi and a TV room, you can't go wrong. It is less than a 10 minute walk to Cuba Street and Courtney Place, the... More

Loved staying here with my family. We had a family ensuite room which was perfect and spacious. Pillows were a bit flat but we made do. Had a great view out over the lovely historic fire station. Yes there is some city noise but it is a city. Close enough to have easy access to city and buses, but not... More

Right beside a grocery store. Good distance from mt Victoria. Rooms were clean. Beds were decent. Bathrooms were clean. Great common area. Staff were helpful. Parking was about a10 minute walk. They used to have an activities coordinator who was really helpful.

I'd never stayed in a YHA hostel before, so I didn't really know what to expect. This was a huge complex (so large in fact there were 2 kitchens!) which was just like a uni/college block. The twin room we were in was clean and functional, so it afforded a good night's sleep. We were getting the 8.30am interislander ferry... More

As with the majority of purpose built YHAs, this one had plenty of space and common rooms. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped, bedrooms were comfortable and secure and bathrooms were plentiful and clean. Great stay.
