The Amora Hotel is a nice place located near the harbor in Wellington and the Te Papa Museum. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the hotel has a nice atrium and the restaurant with the hotel was good, though we found it slow (that could be just a culture issue, Americans are used to very prompt service, the rest of... OK so here is the bottom line. All things considered, this is a good hotel. Convenient location close to water front, restaurants, Te Papa museum. Good size room, comfortable, views out toward harbor, nice size en suite. Comfortable bar with nice selection of wines by glass & bottle. Good restaurant. We did run into some hotel staff who were not... More

We had a great stay in Wellington at the Amora. Very good customer service. Nice decor in the rooms with comfy beds. Breakfast was tasty with good selection of dishes. Check-in and Check out a quick professional experience. Would stay again. Free Wifi would be an additional customer service that in my opinion should be offered. All in all though... More

I cannot fault our stay at the amora. we had very high expectations. It all started at check in when we were welcomed by Beths lovely smile, she then offered to take our bags up to our room, she was very help full. Every thing was perfect, understated, friendly service and efficient. The decor is beautiful. I would recommend to... More

Spent two nights here in March and was delighted with the whole experience. Fabulous room on the 6th with amazing view of the Wellington harbour. Large room and lovely bathroom, and a beautifully comfortable bed. Efficient air conditioning, check in and check out. Great valet carparking, housekeeping, concierge service, simply nothing a problem. Would definitely stay again.

This was meant to be a romantic break for my husband and I. Instead we couldn't wait to go home. We book a room with a king bed which in actual fact was two beds pushed together. There was a large ridge through the centre of the bed so we really had a bed each. Not so romantic.

There are some great reviews for this hotel however we found a surprising negative as far as service goes. We arrived after a 5 hour drive late in the evening to be told that as we did not reserve a carpark we had to find our own either on the street or in a car park building 10 mins walk... More

Dear dougalfreebee, I appreciate you taking the time to provide a review of your stay. Since last year's earthquakes our car parks in the building next door to the hotel have been made unavailable due to it's temporary closure. Whilst we are currently working on an alternative parking arrangement we are able to offer limited parking however this must be... More

There are many positives to this hotel that include its location; its clean and well laid out rooms and free WiFi as part of the package. My cautionary note is to avoid room 908 and any room adjacent. We suffered the usual hotel room fate of a fridge that would wake the dead and always kicked off just as you... More

As world travelers, we have been to many hotels. In our opinion, The Amora in Wellington, is THE best. It has everything...ambience, excellent customer service, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and an view that is second to none. Additional amenities: Champagne, chocolate upon arrival, awesome shampoo/conditioner/lotion. The cost vs. experience makes this truly a remarkable experience. If you have the chance,... More

We spent 3 nights in a Club Floor Room and from the minute we checked in the staff were very attentive and helpful (concierge always happy to field questions, etc; and our 4:30am departure for the airport was no problem - we received our 'breakfast in a bag' as we checked out, which had fruit, muffins, yoghurt, juice, etc inside)....
