Stayed in the Museum Hotel for 1 night, this is a fabulous location within walking distance to all inner city Wellington has to offer. We arrived early but they still had a room available and we were able to check in. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. The Art around the hotel is stunning and well worth looking at. Apart... Spent two nights in the hotel, the decor and art was fabulous and provided interesting talking points especially the 3 motorbikes in the foyer which where a delight for two girlie bike lovers. The gym and lap pool where put to good use as was the hot pool. The one disappointment was the room service menu which was not as... More

Stayed here with family who were leaving Wellington after a few weeks in New Zealand. The Museum Hotel has a very strong reputation in Wellington as being quirky, classy and expensive. The location is excellent - right next to the Harbour, Te Papa Museum and many restaurants. The Hotel Lobby is delightful and adds to the quirky and artsy reputation... More

This is my second stay at this hotel and I am about to leave after 6 nights. Once again - love the location and the art everywhere is amazing. It is so great to stay somewhere different. I am giving it 5 stars because of the atmosphere but room service a bit hit and miss (too trivial to complain online)... More

This conveniently located hotel has dark but comfortable rooms. The décor may be too over the top for many. A sign in the foyer warns that they are about to redecorate all rooms. My shower was broken, but repaired quickly when I pointed it out. How one uses a hand held shaving mirror escapes me. However, the bathroom was certainly... More

The hotel interior is very much based around the eclectic art pieces. It's very dark inside, and if not for the brightly coloured art, would be a bit oppressive On the plus side of things: good gym, lots of bench space in the bathroom, nice thick carpet, good size TV, quirky decor in the rooms, close to the museum and... We stayed in an executive studio harbour view. The room was pleasant but small. Although it did have a kitchenette which was very useful. Bathroom was excellent with a huge bath. The TV was horrendous. Had 2 people in to "have a look'. They both said that that was as good as the TV's were in the hotel. They really... More

I stay regularly here in Wellington when on business and frequently get upgraded to 1 bedroom or studio suite. Has washing machine and kitchenette. Comfy beds. Always spotlessly clean. Great art. Nothing like a bland chain hotel.

My girlfriend booked us in as a surprise for my birthday and the hotel was wonderful. The art and decor of the room and guest areas was spectacular, but it was the well thought out touches that really impressed me. These included a pillow menu, nespresso machine and an immaculate bathroom. The hotel gym and swimming pool was extremely new... More
