The swimming pool was smelly and salty, not sure what kind of water in it. The breakfast was $26, not many choices and we had to order eggs. The room is clean and simple, hard to find somewhere we could charge our phones and iPad. Car park was $20 per day, but we did not pay because of the false... More

A great place to stay on business if you like a bit of walking in the morning into the CBD. Loved the clean and well appointed rooms and the views into the city. The building is not very new, can tell when you get into the elevator but once inside the room, its ideal for couple of days on a... More

Excellent staff, clean, tidy room with comfortable bed. My room was very quiet. Great view of city and sea from my room. My only suggestion would be to clean to vents in the bathroom (so many places never clean these and I always notice them). Great food in their restaurant.

Quite sleepover hotel. edge of city centre,10 min walk to town. good parking, restaurant on site. Decor is tired, however was clean and room spacious. if you busy in the city this is a good spot. If you wish to stay in your hotel all day there are other options. represents good value for money in a city centre

Hotel is a little out of the centre and on a hill, therefore anyone who has walking problems, then avoid this hotel. Didn't help when fire alarm went off at 7.15am and we all had to vacate the hotel until fire officers gave all clear. We did get an apology letter through our door but nothing in way of compensation... More

The Mercure hotel is located on a hill with a good view and in a walking distance from the city center. Our twin room was rather old-fashioned, but clean. E.g. we were not able to control the air condition, which was actually too effective. The free wifi was limited and available only in the lobby. The dinner of the hotel... More

Great hotel staffs and thats about it. The hotel's location is superb but very sad as the decor of the rooms and clealiness were very poor. The white bulb lights in the room was a total eye sore and did not provide an ambience of relaxation. The bathroom was way to small, and the lighting felt like a dorm. Its... More

I overnighted in Wellington last week and was booked in at the Mercure. Had I realised it was some distance from the central city I would have had second thoughts. Still, the 15 minute walk along the Terrace was good exercise after a hearty meal at Backbenchers and fortunately the rain has stopped. The hotel staff at reception were friendly... More

This Hotel is one of my favourites. The staff here always go the extra mile to make every stay a memorable one especially if you are a frequent visitor.
