It's great to see an old lady getting some TLC! Toga NZ has taken over the lease of this property and is now trading as Travelodge Wellington. The service is with a smile and the plans for the next twelve months sound exciting - full refurbishment of the rooms! They even painted the outside of the building!! Can't wait to... more

The hotel is in a great position - you just walk down Plimmer steps and you are in the centre of Wellington. The interior is dated and needs some tlc but it is ok. Parking is available but at $25 a day. The main problem we found was the problem that all Copthorne hotels seem to have - poor service... more

Fist of all the reception is hidden away on one of the middle floors. First impression of the reception counter...It had that feel of late 1970's about it. Cracked ceiling panels worn out counter with old style key piggeon holes on the back wall. I thought to my self, here we go...:-) They use the old style keys and keyrings... more

Good accommodation, as one would expect from a Copthorne. We booked last minute and got a suite for a third of the listed price. Getting in and out of hotel can be a nuisance due to security features (have to enter code in lift and use intercoms out of hours). Copthorne parking spaces poorly labelled, meaning that many people park... more

Oh please! These terrible reviews are clearly from people who want five star but can't or wont afford it! Granted I wasn't expecting great things from this hotel - as it is an older building - but quite honestly I was pleasantly surprised. I was there for a weekend seminar and found it a lovely inner city retreat from 'racking... more

We had the misfortune to spend three nights here. Since we had prepaid thru an agency we did not move out. Our one bedroom suite was not clean, not well maintained, noise came in from the hall and the wind whistled thru the windows. It is confusing to enter and exit as reception is on the 7th floor with rooms... more

I'd like to tell you about the hotel and the room, but unfortunately, I can't! When we arrived, I was informed that there had been a flood and that our room was unavailable. They had rebooked us into the Kingsgate Hotel, 'up the road'. 'Up the road' turned out to be a couple of miles. Assurances that the Kingsgate was... more

The room was noisy with noise from both the street and neighbouring room. My room wasn't ready until 3.30pm despite being told to come back at 2pm. The food was average and one receptionist was unsmiling and unfriendly. The internet was 'down' and no advice was given as to the nearest internet cafe. A fellow guest guided us instead. Good... more

Stayed here for 3 nights during my visit in Wellington. Hotel is nothing fancy but was very clean and service was very friendly and efficient. My 12th floor room had an awful view of the parking garage attached to the property but that wasn't a big deal to me. Decor is modest, sort of IKEA-like light wood. No closet, but... more

My wife & I were booked into this hotel for one night only at the begginning of our trip of 8 weeks to NZ, having taken the train from Auckland(a12 hr journey) we were delayed and arrived 2 hrs later than planned, the train people telephoned the hotel to advise of the delay, however when we got there we had... more
