We had a short stay in the Grand Mercure Apartment Hotel, as we only stayed one night after arriving by ferry from the south island. Our room (601) was a basic hotel room, with a small fridge and a microwave. That was it for kitchen type things, so it was definitely more like a hotel room than an apartment. That... More

I booked a two bedroom apartment direct having looked at the website online. Two bedroom, full cooking facilities. My husband then looked a a few reviews on trip advisor and became nervous. I called to insure the sleeping configuration was suitable for two children and two adults which is what we had booked for. We were in a room with... More

An excellent location in the heart of Wellington. As the hotel was a narrow building with four rooms on each level (15 levels), most rooms were high rise and relatively quiet. The rooms were standard with everything one would expect for this price range. This hotel didn't have any extras, like a pool or restaurant but was conveniently located near... More

Our first impression of the apartment was kind of sour in all honestly and with that in mind probably set the scene for a stay that wasn't fantastic. The check in staff member checked us in and instantly demanded a $50 bond from us, and thought it would be appropriate to embarrass us when we challenged this bond by telling... More

This hotel is in a very good location in the center of Wellington, with nice rooms, quite big , very clean with very good beds and lots of comforts . On the other hand it needs some improvements in its decoration and a slight renovation in the kitchen and the bathroom. It is not very clean but ok. The staff... More

Great location! However, the hotel left a lot to be desired. We rented 2 rooms for 3 nights. My partner and I were on the first floor. We couldn't keep any windows open - it was too accessible from the road. My sister and her family had the second room which was on the 10th floor - it was a... More

We stayed at the Grand Mercure mainly because of its location. We did not have a car and needed to be able to walk to most attractions in Wellington. It was a great hotel for our purposes. The front desk was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The room was nice and had a... More

The hotel is in a very good location, the staff are very helpful, and it seems clean enough, but there are a number of problems with the hotel. * It seems to be transparent to sound and vibration. People in the room next door or above (not sure which) managed to make the cutlery rattle on the sink bench just... More
