Great location! However, the hotel left a lot to be desired. We rented 2 rooms for 3 nights. My partner and I were on the first floor. We couldn't keep any windows open - it was too accessible from the road. My sister and her family had the second room which was on the 10th floor - it was a... More

We stayed at the Grand Mercure mainly because of its location. We did not have a car and needed to be able to walk to most attractions in Wellington. It was a great hotel for our purposes. The front desk was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The room was nice and had a... More

The hotel is in a very good location, the staff are very helpful, and it seems clean enough, but there are a number of problems with the hotel. * It seems to be transparent to sound and vibration. People in the room next door or above (not sure which) managed to make the cutlery rattle on the sink bench just... More

The good point about Grand Mercure is its location. Located in the heart of Wellington, everything is within walking distance, including Te Papa museum. It´s close to Cuba street, where most of the restaurants are located, and the cable car. There are also bus stops nearby.

Stayed one night in a "harbour view 1 bedroom apartment". The separate lounge was really small and for the price we paid we were expecting something a lot larger. The bathroom has no extraction other than a window and a old time heater, which means that maintaining this area must be a nightmare, mould, worn paint and general yukiness. The... More

This hotel is in a great location in the centre of Wellington in easy walking distance to the main areas of the city centre. There is no car parking here but you can park at their sister hotel just round the corner but the parking is a bit of a nightmare (very small spaces and tight corners). The rooms were... More

I stayed at this hotel with a friend who has disability problems. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. I can't praise them enough. The situation is perfect for exploring Wellington.
