A compact room, probably best for a 1 night stay. Mostly for coach parties and work force! A clean, comfortable bed, otherwise basic facilities. Paintwork and carpet shabby. General needing a good clean. Windows filthy. Extra charge for parking, but probably cheaper and easier than street parking

The hotel is modern, no frills, centrally located and is ideal if you are in town in transit from the North to the South Islands as it is very easy to get to the terminals from there. The rooms were standard for the price, clean and tidy. The WiFi was free and good. There is a NZD12 per night for... More

I stayed five days on a business trip. One night would have been bad enough but five nights is a bit of a sentence! the rooms were tiny and very dated. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom could have been a lot cleaner. There are no bathtubs in the hotel. Just tiny shower cubicles and the shower head is... More

The rooms are clean and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I can recommend this hotel to anyone. The menu in the restaurant is slightly limited, but the food is amazing. Parking is a bit of a challenge at times, but it is well managed. I love the "gping green" option provided to guests.

Lady on front desk very unhelpful and rude. we arrived from Auckland at 7.30 am after 3.30 start no rooms ready and apparently not one ready until 2 where they magically all became available. She would not even contact housekeeping to ask when they could get one ready. Restaurant and bar staff were awesome and more than helpful but front... More

Had a good stay. Hotel on edge of the main town with good access to areas. Staff very helpful. Good restaurants within 10 min walk and Botanical Gardens. Definitely go to Te Papa if not stayed in Wellington before.

My car was broken into in this hotels car park that had clear signs of security cameras in operation. We lost everything luggage, family Xmas gifts. Hotel staff knew of the theft and damage to my car but they did not inform me. I was left to find my car smashed and pillaged after checking out. No care or consideration... More

Suited us very well. Close to Railway station and we could easily catch trains to visit relatives in Hutt Valley. Rooms were roomier than some hotels, because they are a bit older than others including the bathroom and shower. Service was good in the bar and restuarant. No bother to look after our bags until later in the day. our... More

Very disappointed with the state of the premises. Needs a good tidy up. I use the stairs where possible. The dust in the stairwell was like tumbleweeds. They offer a newspaper service - you hang the card on your door before 9pm and you get a paper the next morning. No you don't. When asked advised they short ordered. That... More

Dear Lynn G, Thank you for your feedback on Tripadvisor. I hope to address a couple of your comments. On one of the days of your stay the newspapers were under delivered. While there was a small delay from my understanding the staff member at front office went a local shop and purchased some additional papers. While the stairs wells... More

We stayed for one night on route up the country from the Deep South, it was a Christmas trip and our car was full of gifts for our family. We parked in the last available park at the hotel which happened to be the disabled park. There were big signs saying security cMeras in operation. We checked that the park... More

Dear Aloma W, Thank you for your feedback on Tripadvisor. Please accept my sincerest apologies if you found our staff uncaring, please be assured it certainly was not their intention. Over the past four years there has only been one other incident of this nature among the 25000+ vehicles parked in the hotel over this time. I will certainly speak... More
