Our two day stay at John and Annette's "Crows Nest" guest house was very memorable both for the quality of the place itself and for the outstanding hospitality of the hosts. Our suite upstairs was extremely comfortable and elegant and the views across the bay were wonderful. It was easy to get into Wellington by the ferry which was only... More

We enjoyed a two night stay at Days Bays Home stay in November at the end of a tour around the North Island. The house is exquisite in every way. I notice that most reviews for this property comment on the views - this is for good reason - the situation is absolutely amazing and the attention to detail in... More

Thank you Anne, we enjoyed your stay too. Our weather has not been so kind as is was when you visited, although recent guests got the timing just right. The surf was up for a lot of December & January. February is looking great. More

We stayed at Day's Bay Homestay for four nights. Everything about the stay was a great experience, starting from the warm welcome from John and Annette on arrival. The room upstairs was exquisite with uninterrupted views across the bay. The lapping of the waves lulled us to sleep each night. In the morning we were woken by the smell of... More

I write this review on behalf of my in-laws who absolutely loved their 4 night stay here. The hosts could not have been kinder - from booking to departure they were attentive and caring yet giving all the space needed to lap up the views, relax and take in the bay. The accommodation is so ideally set up, very clean... More

Thank you Carol, the spa often gets forgotten with guests having busy schedules but your in-laws took the time to enjoy it - we enjoy it too :-) Nice comment about breakfast, thank you. Nice to have hosts with more experience than us stay here, it helps to provide us with ideas. More

This place may be unbeatable for anyone looking to melt into the local culture, offering a great balance between immersion and privacy. Hosts John and Annette are very hospitable, worldly and knowledgeable. Each evening we were invited to join them over a glass of wine to explore our curiosity and share the events of our day and our previous experiences.... More

Our goal for a weekend away was to have more romance [with no kids] but minimal travel time and this location/homestay exceeded our expectations. Just 30 minutes from Wellington, yet the picturesque setting on the waters edge felt like we were far far away. We loved how we could walk one way and have the choice of two delicious restaurants... Very pleased you enjoyed yourselves. We enjoyed your visit, it was great to chat about our lovely city with locals. BTW, we have replaced a pillow with a slimmer one on your suggestion to provide more choice, next time you return you should have a great sleep. More

We stayed with Annette and John for a long weekend holiday and loved every minute of it! Their breakfasts were delicious, especially the fresh bread! We also loved watching movies on the iPad! Annette and John were so helpful without being too "in the way". Would highly recommend!
