Where to start! First of all I was greeted by a very unhelpful receptionist. My room wasn't ready when I arrived at 11.30am and checkout was at 10am. I didn't mind the wait, only about 20 minutes when he'd told me he'd cleaned the room and changed my be sheets. When I went to the room (after having a rubbish... More

This place was disgusting. Dirty is an understatement. Spoke to the owner and he said too bad, it's a backpackers. He said oh well the 60 people staying there thinks it's fine. Although funnily enough in the graffiti on our bed someone had written clean this filthy hostel. Seems someone agreed with me. If we had the time and money... More

What this experience taught me was *always check out reviews first.* We booked a family room for 3 adults at $81 which isn't cheap, with a non refundable half paid up front. The corridors and room smelled of BO and damp, the bathroom facilities probably breed disease in the water pipes, the kitchen smelled and was unclean, and the beds... More

ok, so this hostel is weeeird. i mean it. not sure if dodgy is the right word here, but i will use it:) There are mostly kiwi-pickers staying here so dont expect luxury and be prepared for stinky working shoes on the corridor. HOwever staff makes amazing job here, especially one guy from Nepal, hired in the reception who i... More

Ok, there are some things you might like about this hostel: it has free pool and big common room, it has good location. Now to the bad things: - it's dirty. I mean, very dirty. - the rooms are small, dirty and have no windows - the kitchen is big, but dirty - the bathrooms are dirty and smell bad... More

Unwelcoming, unhelpful reception staff. Rooms with no windows or proper ventilation. We had fleas of some kind creeping around in our room. The wee table in our room was covered in a sticky alcohol mess (baring in mind we'd ordered a triple room for ourselves so room should of been cleaned previously) Our bunks were covered in disgusting foul graffiti... The location is excellent but the backpackers itself was very average. There was rubbish everywhere, carpet half pulled up, no windows in the rooms... We didn't spend much time in the backpackers itself but it didn't seem that great. The communal rooms didn't seem all that bad though and the guy at reception was nice enough to give us a... More

DON'T GO TO THIS HOSTEL! This was the most worse hostel i have ever stayed in. The people were not nice, no windows in the rooms, kitchen was so dirty. Showers and toilets were not clean and the only good thing was that it was in the city center. But the price for one night (29 dollar) was way to... More

This Backpacker is very good. The location is very good. The hostel is close to all clubs and you need just ten minutes to the beach by car. You also have the possibility to play pool or table tennis. The Backpacker give you a job if you want to work. Inside the hostel is a internet cafe. If you want... More

The location is good but the facility is too bad. Near to the bar, very noisy at night. No window in the room. Always has some strange guys sitting in the lounge, even if you don't know if they stay in the backpackers or not. Maybe I'm the only girl stay in there that 2 nights. People will drink in... More
