I have been staying at the Lakefront Motor Lodge for many years while on my business travels. Ken and Kumiko are simply wonderful hosts. Very accomodating helpful and friendly. They take their business seriously and pride themselves upon making every visit to Taupo memorable. Certainly the motel is an older style but the owners are always making improvements and updating... more

We turned up on spec seeking accommodation for 2 nights. The owner was able to offer us a different apartment for each night necessitating a move upstairs for the 2nd night. We paid $159 per night. The furnishings and fixtures are a bit dated and tired but the apartments are clean. There were good kitchen appliances. There was no view... more

Our arrival at the motel was rather late and after regular office hours. The moteliers however, welcomed us warmly and communicated clearly how and where we would be able to check in should the office already be closed. The room we stayed in was extreamly spacious with a gorgeous outlook towards the lake and surrounding mountains. The atmosphere and room... more

Greeting or non greeting on arrival set the scene for the 2 night stay - the workmen were outside the room working on replacing guttering - requested another room but was offered one 2 doors away which would have made no difference as the workmen were working there aswell - room was like a small wooden shed - only natural... more

The marketing materials and placements in journals such as the AA guide are an excellent use of selective photography bearing little semblance to reality. Our room, up a narrow, external, staircase not conducive to the ease of luggage transportation, was old and tired with a pityful shower, both small in size and wholly limited in any water pressure of substance.... more

Thank you for your feed back. We normally do not recommend to take a First Floor Unit to people who have large suits cases, unless there are no available rooms down stairs at that time. The shower in the rooms are a standard size in NZ, and have a 40 gallon hot water tank, which is normally ample enough for...

We stayed at this motel for one night this month. The room was a good size, clean and it had its own mineral bath which was quite nice. The motels are just across the road from the lake, so the view is lovely. It it quite a way to walk to the centre of town though, so it was good... more
