Good hostel with a nice atmosphere only a short walk from the bus stop and very good location! Kitchen is small but manageable and the rooms are just like any other dorm nothing amazing but fine! Wifi is not free but better than some places and the 5 dollar meal is the same every day, this could be changed every... More

The air conditioned dorm rooms were a God send in warm weather. I like the open plan reception, bar, lounge and kitchen. Free use of computers was nice even if they did run 1990's firefox. One tip; dont bother with the cheap dinner provided. I had to go and eat dinner anyway after my ultra small budget-brand chilli con carne... More

I stayed at this hostel as part of the kiwi experience. A four bed dorm with no window which is tiny will cost you $28 NZD and a six bed with a window will cost you $30NZD. Now normally I would not mind paying the extra for comfort but in this case I felt a little cheated. My friend was... More

I was really torn between two and three stars for this one. Although this hostel has many good points, I went with two because of the issues detailed below. My biggest problem for this hostel was the noise. There must be a bar in or right outside the hostel because it was unbearable well into the am. Music, people chatting... More

Nice hostel, rooms were a little small but very comfortable beds. Showers were clean. Kitchen is a bit small and the communal area is also a bar which can be loud. Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed Taupo.

Had a private room here for 3 nights and don't know if all the showers are the same but mine was really powerful, which was ideal after staying in a few places where the water pressure is lacking. The hostel is right in the centre of town so short walk to the waterfront area where there are lots of bars... More

Stayed a couple of nights here in a comfortable, slightly small four bed dorm. The receptionist was bubbly, welcoming and informative, and the place in general had a modern, lively feel to it. The common area was a bit cramped when eating (especially while beer pong was going on), but had a vibrant and fun atmosphere. Showers and toilets were... More

We booked a double room with a private bathroom, and it was very tiny, and very dark. There was one weak light bulb to illuminate the room. The private rooms are all inside the hostel and front onto a main corridor, so there are constantly people walking past. Because it was so dark, we wanted to open the blinds, as... More

I was here for a few nights and unfortunately so was a large group of guys who got drunk every night at the hostel bar, playing beer pong and then came back in the middle of the night and woke everyone up. This might have just been 1 bad experience but the place had a feel of a party hostel... More

Spent 2 nights there (Christmas eve)... On my room, i saw more than 20 spiders, had to buy a product to kill. Also on the bathroom spiders everywhere. We were in 6 people waiting for the 23:59 - 00:00 on Christmas eve and a guy from the hostel were very rude saying we couldnt stay even 1 more minute or... More
