I was tired while driving from Auckland to Napier, and decided just to find somewhere in Taupo to stay for the night. Wandering on the main road alongside the lake, looking for somewhere that looked inexpensive and easy, I saw Cascades Lakeside Motor Lodge and decided to stop there.
