Stayed for one night. The grounds and general setting is very nice and quiet Buffet roast on Sunday night was very good value for money Food was tasty and plentiful However the room itself (double king) was dated with very basic amenities. There was no air conditioning or ceiling fans ,as a result the room was like a oven, and... More

It's hard to beat Wairakei Resort when staying in Taupo. Lovely quiet and comfortable rooms with great facilities, including two swimming pools, spas, mountain bike trails, golf course, tennis courts, bar and restaurant. Friendly staff. Lovely grounds to wander around. We'll definitely be back.

We have stayed at this resort before and decided to hold a small conference for our staff here recently. The hotel staff were very good to deal with in the lead up to the conference and everything was exactly as we had hoped. The conference facilities are really great, whether for a small group like ours, or a larger gathering.... More

Suggestion With the hotel with large grounds and with facilities for families a swimming pool with a safe toddlers and children's pool would be a bonus. Adults without children should also have the option of a relaxing swim.

We had 2 nights here at the end of December and this is our second stay. We love the resort with so much on offer, love the swimming pool, enjoyed the 9 hole golf course and the mountain bike ride. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Look forward to returning sometime in the future.

The Wairakei Resort is a haven for relaxation. The hotel and restaurant staff are welcoming and friendly, and the resort has many activities to occupy your days, including a squash court. We've stayed at the resort now over 5 times, and love coming back for time out. While the rooms are a bit dated, you don't mind given the price... More

Stayed just a night on route home post New Years 14/15 . It was as our Wedding Anniversary, frankly now having experienced I'd recommend the resort for an entire Wedding Celebration or any celebration now matter how big or small. This Resort could cope and cater for anything. The facilities are incredible, if not upper world class..Possibly the only set... More

Resort is good value for money. Nothing flash but good and clean. Very helpful staff and the food is not bad. The aircon was not keeping up with the heat and the pool was 35c which wasn't refreshing in the hot weather. Still a good solid place to stay especially if you want to play golf.

Everything needed for comfort and convenience. Friendly and efficient staff. Clean, spacious rooms. Pool a great spot to relax after a days travel. Unfortunately the bar at the pool has a chute at the back to the large recycling bin which creates a lot of noise as bottles are thrown out.

The Wairaki Resort Hotel is very close to all the Geothermal Power Stations and the Taupo attractions. Very popular with golfers for a golfing holiday. we stayed for an overnight stop on the way home. The layout is spread over quite a large area. Very nice room, it seemed a long way away in the wet but internal passages take... More
