I paid $145.00 per night for a 2 bdrm lakefront, five steps away frm the lake..abit out in the open, but it is available to the public as a there is a walkway that leads right into town which is handy. The rms are nice but a tad small, good for 2ad and 2 small children,or 2 ad and 1 teenager. The decor is... more

We stayed about 10 yards away from the lake. Sublime, fantastic views. Room itself was a bit poky and on the small side. But worth it. more

This 'hotel' was chosen as it stated it could sleep 5 people. The hotel is split into the chalet style rooms in a big block on one side a a newer hotel on the otherside. We were in the old bit - think Butlins1970s. The decor was dated and it was a squeeze to fit us all in, a double... more

My wife and I stayed with friends for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom unit just over the New Year. Our unit was not waterfront but still cost over NZ$300 per night. The whole complex has quite a faded, almost run-down feel about it, despite some improvements (LCD TV). The wireless internet connection did not work at all. The unit's... more

We had a waterfront unit which was very small. The public can walk between the units and the lake so no privacy. It was noisy - I could hear the conversation in the room next door and trucks in the night. Would not recommend this place and was very disappointed for the price. more

We stayed in the Oasis with the family and had a wonderful time. It is right on the beach, has a tennis court right on the lake, heated pools and looks out at snowcapped mountains. The unit we stayed in was exceptionally clean and modern and the staff very friendly. The restaurant at the Millenium Hotel next door was superb... more

Stayed at the Oasis Hotel on Lake Taupo for 2 nights after staying for 2 nights with my partner years ago. The kitchen smelt musty, and while the views and position was great the place was infested with ants which the hotel didn't really seem too fussed about and after we mentioned it, gave the room "a spray" and didn't... more

We thought the our room was overpriced for what we got. As stated in the previous review, our room was tiny! We did have a delightful view of the lake front, however, since the Oasis is located so close to the main motorway, there was quite a bit of traffic noise throughout the night. I wish I could remember what... more

The motel is located on the east bank of Lake Taupo, right near a hot spring that makes the swimming comfortable. But the rooms in the suites are tiny (we had to stand on the bed to close one bedroom door), the units are clustered on top of pools and spas, and the management is on the verge of being... more
