It was a very good stay, the room was clean, bed was comfortable with a heated mattress and there was everything we could imagine we might need. The room warmed up really quickly which was nice as it was pretty cold outside. There only 2 drawbacks: internet and receptionists. You can only have 100mb of internet and can use it... More

Lovely resort for a weekend away in Taupo.Cabin was lovely, very spacious for 2 people. Whole resort is clean and tidy. Receptionist was very helpful with advice and has plenty of maps and brochures. Very close to Taupo CBD - only takes a few minutes to drive.

It seems that there is a huge difference between the individual villas at this resort. The one we stayed in was dated and getting a little tired but was still okay for the price. It looked as though it had not be redecorated since it was built. We did see one of the refurbished ones and that was of a... More

Not a place you want to stay, especially for young people or in fact anybody that might want to check their emails! A cold draft comes through the floor boards and around all of the doors and windows, combined with a lack of double glazing makes it a truely horrible experience despite the small fan heaters they provide. In the... More

Built in the 80ies by the look of it, the cabins are individually owned so maintenance issues are only fixed with the owner's consent. Ours (33) was obviously owned by a slum landlord. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the (very large) bathroom, a large crack in the metal pipe for the shower head sprayed water all over... More

Fantastic stay! The directions to the resort area was a little confusing but once I found the front desk, the front desk rep walked outside to greet me and asked if I was checking in! Talk about some great service. Check in took less than 60 seconds and I was off to my cabin. Luckily I went on a full... More

This is a relatively economical option and the units are adequately equipped for the holiday maker. I ended up in a two-bedroom unit (because I asked to be in a quieter area than was initially proposed) which would be great for a family of four spending a few days in Taupo. The kitchen was well appointed, and plenty of room.... More

I lived in taupo for 25yrs and had driven past this place many times. After relocating and on visits back to Taupo we normally stayed on the Lake front or with friends. However on looking at wotif to book a night in Taupo I looked at the room rate for Huka Falls Resort ($75) and it was almost too good... More
