I visited last year for my honeymoon. The match of a spectacular scenery, the hotel and the service makes this hotel one of the most beautiful hotels I visited in my life. All our dinners in different beautiful areas are memorable. I recommend this hotel.

We stayed 4 nights this Easter weekend and the lodge was running at capacity. Only negative is the lack of privacy in the rooms as fellow hotel guests walk in front of rooms which means that if you want privacy, you need to close the curtains which you don't want to have to given the beautiful location. Highly professional and... More

Huka Lodge has been on my 'must do' list for many years. I'm originally from Taupo and normally stay with family, staring wistfully over the river at the lodge. It goes without saying that the surroundings are absolutely divine, and the gardens are immaculate. The lodge and the rooms are well appointed, and the view from almost every window is... More

If you want a relaxing break away here it is. Wonderful location by the river, peaceful and relaxing. Service is excellent. Lodges are great. Food is superb. And be ready to have your every whim taken care of. Nothing more to say...

Hands down one of the finest hotels I have had the opportunity to experience in the world. The lodge is a preppy combination of Dutch and Old English style with dark greens and plaid patterns dominating the décor. The grounds were a lush, green wonderland. We stayed in a luxurious bungalow nestled on the shores of the river that runs... More

There's a fine rhythm to things at Huka Lodge. Breakfast and dinner seem to occur every day, ritualistically, without ever feeling tired or rehearsed -- though you can be certain the staff takes great care to ensure each meal hits the perfect note. The setting is both private and communal, in a good way. The guest who holds himself (or... More

This is one of the finest hotels in the world. Very private. Communal dining if you want or the wine cellar dining is fun too. We stayed in a bungalow facing the river, and it was just lovely. Visited the geyser park across the street and a Maori museum nearby. The essence of a perfect stay.

Some friends who had recently emigrated to NZ, suggested the Huka Lodge. What a truly magnificent setting! . The Hotel overlooks the Huka Falls, a short distance from the very attractive Lake Taupo. This is quality through and through. The list of recent VIP Guests is impressive and it seems to be the No 1 Hotel in NZ. Valet parking... More

We spent 4 nights at Huka Lodge in early Jan 2015. The Lodge is in a great setting on the Wairakei R just above Huka Falls. Service is outstanding and the meals were all very good. Other than mealtimes, we did not spend much time at the Lodge since there is so much to do in the area. However, during... More

The Huka lodge was a top notch place to take the family. However, you want to only take teenagers and not toddlers. This Resort is for mature and well mannered families only. The fly fishing, food, rooms, and customers service was incredible. It was interesting meeting other guests during cocktail hour before your dinner. The experience is top 3 for... More
