A wonderful experience from the warm greeting from Catherine, the attentive Kate, knowledgeable wine expert Jasper, Jake and Leanne all whom made our visit with my extraordinary wife, Sally, Imogen aged 7 and Montgomery just 5 a wonderful experience. Images of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip brought back memories polishing the ML500 to attend Buckingham Palace for Bryan's MBE event.... More

We ate lunch here recently to celebrate a birthday. Pros: choice of dining location, friendly and attentive service, amazing food, extensive wine and drinks list, amazing vista, unique dining experience. Cons: we struggled to think of something... anything.... but we failed. Huka Lodge obviously costs more than your average meal out but this is not an average meal! The food,... More

Huka Lodge quite rightly deserves it's reputation as New Zealand's finest luxury lodge, enjoyed by the rich & famous as well as royalty. Throughout the winter they run weekends which may have a celebrity chef, opportunity to drive the range of Aston Martin cars, enjoy rare champagne, experience new exotic fragrances etc - check out their website. We enjoyed a... More

I have found it difficult to decide what to write for Huka Lodge, i will explain. The location is wonderful, the rooms are very nice and well planned. There are approx 20 lodge rooms to take a guess; owners cottage and the Pye cottage. I would definitely stay at the cottages rather than lodge. Simply more privacy. The staff are... More

From the moment you drive through the gates of Huka lodge you are aware that you are in an extremely unique and special place in the world. The grounds are immaculate. The level of luxury that is instantly apparent is indescribable. Huka Lodge is not your run-of-the-mill five star experience (in any 5 star experience can be call run of... More

This is, bar none, the best service we have ever had. I was admiring the fly rods and within the hour one was on the porch with all the tackle one would need. We went shopping in town and our driver from the lodge circled the block until I was finished. No waiting in lines at the airport - we... More

This has been the second time I have been to Huka Lodge and both times have been wonderful. This visit was a business visit and the staff were so accommodating it was amazing. Traveling with international guests is not always easily but Huka made my job very easy. Dinner in the trophy room was stunning although very drawn out. The... More

We were greeted at the entrance by the manager with "Air gun" (for howareyougoing in Australian) - very funny. What to say? Relaxed, charming, beautiful, stylish - perfect. Nothing is a concern, anything that is possible is a done thing. Truely a lodge in every sense, old time elegance. Stayed 4 days, not enough for me! For a treat, arrive... More

This is a very fine hotel. The place is beautiful inside and out. The staff is excellent. The rooms or beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and have great views of the river. You can open your door and walk right to the river bank. I tried my hand at a little fishing right in front of our room. Rooms have all... More

Stayed two nights in September in a Junior Lodge Suite. This is a remarkable Lodge with so much history. The architecture, the setting, the ambiance are unmatched anywhere, but it does have its flaws. Every room faces the river and you can literally walk out your door and drop a fishing line in and find yourself catching trout. But you... More
