This place is definitely the budget end of the spectrum but was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was definitely better value than the last place we stayed in Taupo. The bathroom in the studio motel unit was tiny but if you were going with a group you could just overflow to the shared ablutions block. As there were only the... More

We stayed in the motel section. It IS cheap, it is old, but it is comfortable, clean and quiet. It had everything we needed for a good night's rest. Very friendly and helpful owner. The laundry was the cheapest we found in 3 weeks.

With this place you definitely get what you pay for, For only $37 cheapest place out for a seperate cabin. The cabin contains just a bunk bed, double size on the bottom, single top. Aesthetically- not much to look at- paint chips etc but ok for the price. The biggest downfall- bathrooms- very dirty, rundown etc, Big kitchen, but again,... More

Late emergency stop. Wouldn't again . room smells Don't think bedding has been changed. Will need a bath in disinfectant on leaving. Noisy fridge only quietened by unplugging. Good insight into what it must be like to live in the ghetto. Maybe someone left their wet running shoes under the bed. Too scared to look.

One of the least impressive hotel/motels I have ever stayed in. Although it stated no animals there was certainly a dog barking in the unit next to ours. The cabin was cramped and smelt like smoke. Not the most comfortable night I've spent

We paid $105 for 4 people, 2 nights which was OK. We had a crammed cabin, with a tv that didnt work, a microwave, toaster and a jug... but no tap? Bit useless. There was also no mirror in the room, and us being a bunch of teenagers staying there for a night out, was extremely inconvenient. The shared bathroom... More

The budget accommodation is exactly what it says on the tin but oh so much less. Filthy, cramped and quite frankly disgusting. The place smelt of smoke and there's just no excuse for the accomodation not being clean. We got ripped off as the only way to go was to accept the upgrade option for another $140. From other comments... More

I contacted the owner and received the internet price. He was helpful , and sorted some bikes out for us. Like he said to us on arrival ' it's not the Ritz you know', but it was absolutely fine. Hot showers, clean bedding, kitchen facilities. It's great for a little stop off, I wouldn't chose it for a holiday stay,... More

Stayed at the 'medium cabin standard'...Firstly we payed $75 per night where website stated $50 per night (ripped off), we payed for 2 nights, it was ‘noisy’ due to paper thin walls where you could hear the neighbours, the furnishings could of been picked up from a organics dump...fridge, microwave and oven appeared old and outdated, and it looked ‘unhygienic’... Originally purchased three nights for $134 for two adults and a teenager, using there on line booking for the small cabin. Upon arrival had a look, would have met our needs all be it slightly cramped but no issues. Offered an upgrade to a larger cabin/unit for $180. Took the upgrade option. Due to it being a cabin, you share... More
