Stayed one night after deciding to stay the night in Taupo. Looked at other motels that wanted $140 plus for a night then found this place. $80 for the night. Words can't describe how good it was. Most comfortable motel bed I've ever slept in. Was very clean comfortable and had everything for just $80.

We had an overnight stop in Taupo, and a night at $NZ96 for 1b rat the Dunrovin motel was good value. It's fairly old and original, but well maintained and clean. Plenty of internal space, but if you seek a modern place, this certainly is not it. No views and spartan grounds, but it is all that is needed for... More

We stayed only one night in a one bedroom unit on our way through Taupo. It was clean, quiet and comfortable, although the bedroom was so small we had to keep our luggage in the sitting room. Dunrovin is excellent value for money and if the opportunity arose we would definitely stay again.

Cheap and cheerful describes this 8 unit motel. All a bit tired but bed very comfy and the rooms had everything needed. Only downside forme was the hopeless wifi. Rarely worked and when it did was cvery slow

Stayed here for one night to break up the drive from Auckland to Wellington and this place was very affordable. We received excellent service from arrival to departure. We stayed in Unit 2. It's spacious and clean with a double bed, dining table, kitchenette (with hot plate), cups, plates and everything you'd need for a short stay. The bathroom is... More

Our studio was like a self-contained apartment: it had everything we needed, including a well-facilitated kitchen, dining table and chairs, a comfy bed, armchair, cable tv, and an ensuite bathroom. The decor is old-fashioned but but the studios are large and have lots of storage space. The location is excellent, only 10 minutes walking distance from the town centre. The... More

OK, so the gardens need weeding and some things need updating. But the place is clean, quiet, spacious and a very good price. We saw the owner doing the housekeeping himself; and, while a bit distant, he was pleasant to deal with. Taupo itself is highly overrated--not much of interest going on there, especially in the blustery windstorm.

This is by far the most affordable option we could find in Taupo. We booked a one bedroom unit for the price of a studio elsewhere and the owner upgraded us to a two bedroom for free! Very retro décor and some things are a bit tired (our kitchen cupboard latches were broken), but you get lots of space, a... More

Loved this retro little holiday park, nice clean accommodation in a quiet area, a short walk to the lake and town centre Everything you could possibly need in this lodge in terms of pots and pans, plenty of crockery etc, comfy bed (although I thought there were a few too many covers on the bed and maybe just one quilt...
