We stopped at Windsor Lodge on our way to spend the day at Mt Ruapehu. When we got there the hosts had already turned the heat pump on so the whole unit was warm and inviting. That really does sum up the entire stay - warm and inviting! Awesome place owned by wonderful people and we can't wait to go... More

Our problems started from arrival. They were so rude to us no customer service, telling us where to park our car on the street which was on the road by a dairy then the next day a woman came up yelling us to move our car!!! They have one car park per room which is fine but they have this... More

Thank you for your review. It is disappointing but not surprising considering the damage left behind and non-payment for stay. Photographs of the damage are published elsewhere to assist other providors in avoiding you. More

we stayed in the tourist cabin. It was all what we expected and even more (there was a TV..) Richard and Sandy were friendly and helped us organizing our Tongariro crossing. There tips were useful and we even got fresh plums from their tree as a snack.. They have spring water in taps, so we enjoyed our showers and drinking... More

We enjoyed a great weekend at Windsor lodge and booked 2 rooms, one for us and one for friends. The accommodation is modest but clean and comfortable. Our hosts were a friendly couple who went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. Recommended!

Rude, rundown and deceitful owners. What else do you need to know other than to avoid this place. Small, dirty units. I even had to make the bed as sheets hidden under pillow. Location on the lake is ok, but only shop around is their own one. I'd rather sleep in the bush than go back to the Windsor Lodge.... More

The accommodation is clean, tidy, has a good heater, comfortable beds, good towels, hot water and SKY channels when it is raining. No complaints. The Lodge is run down and old but that's part of its charm. Cross the road from the Lake. Hosts are friendly, real people. Nice dog and parrot.

We stayed here at the end of November this year (2013) - there were 3 of us - we were more than happy with the premises - Rich looked after our every need and gave us up to date information about local activities and also vouchers for discounts and meal recommendations. Others have commented about the showers and we would... More

We had a very unfortunate experience staying at this Motel over Labour weekend. I bought vouchers to stay there with friends and we were shocked to find the motel very run down and unattractive. Our double room was tiny with the most outdated scruffy furniture and most basic kitchen and bathroom . The kitchen/ lounge was tiny. We looked out... More

We got a 2 night deal from groupy. Expected issues in making bookings as can often happen but not here. Could not have been more helpful in trying to secure dates. Sure the rooms are retro small and could be cleaner. A bit more attention in this regard would be great. There was an unexpected deceased guest (mouse) in our... More
