Myself and my husband only stayed for one night, a Saturday night. We definately will not be staying here again. We were on the first floor and you could literately touch our room window from the footpath. If you are a very heavy sleeper then you wont have any problems sleeping. If you are a light sleeper then find a... more

Have to say, this is the prime location to stay at in New Plymouth. I won't lie, this hotel is not without its problems, but it is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are very spacious, too spacious! They could all have sofas and coffee tables put in the rooms to create more of a suite style. The beds... more

The hotel is in an excellent location, New Plymouth is small so it is possible to walk everywhere from here. In bad weather the wind howls around the building because of its seafront location but if the weather is good there is no better place to be. The hotel is new but not finished to a very high standard. As... more

A really sorry experience when my colleague and I stayed for 3 nights at the Waterfront Hotel - I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay. Our stay was marred by grumpy receptionists, bags not being delivered to rooms properly, cleaning staff leaving keys in rooms and locking us out, and generally lousy service. Our restaurant booking for the Salt... more

The Penthouse suite was nice and well appointed, with a roomy seperate lounge, bedroom, bathroom and laundry. Deck was a good size, and views awesome. Photos of wind wand and coast on their website were taken from this room. Unfortunately for four nights we didnt get much sleep, partygoers and general louts on the street all Sat night, you could... more

Having sampled some of the other accommodation options in New Plymouth, I think this is probably the best. Nice spacious rooms, very clean, good decor, and the food isn't too bad either. The location is good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault it, even if I did have a view of the back of the neighbouring... more

I was surprised to read all the negative reviews of this hotel. I looked at the other options while in town, and spoke to a lot of taxi drivers, and can confirm that the general view is that the Waterfront is the best spot to stay in town. A very good hotel (and I travel a lot, right round the... more

We spent a night at the Waterfront hotel last week. The noise from major port traffic on the street bellow was horrible, and this ended up being the worst night we spent in New Zealand. Trucks were rolling by all night, often stopping and starting up at the traffic light by the hotel, and the train passed several times. Simply... more

We were in a "Deluxe" room, which was very spacious with a huge very comfortable bed. Everything was modern, clean-lined and sparkling clean. Our view was a disappointing panorama of the parking lot across the road plus a little bit of ocean, and the balcony was barely big enough for two people to stand on, but otherwise we were very... more

We spent a night at the Waterfront and it was fantastic. The room was huge with a very comfy king size bed, a nice sitting area and the bathroom was fantastic. I had a long soak in the jetted tub. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was reasonably good. Our room faced the... more
