Great location. We could walk to everything. Alan was a ton of help to give us ideas of what to do. We loved the thermal pool. The bed was a little uncomfortable. That was my only wish for change. I would recommend this place to stay.

We felt this was the worst accommodation we had during our 5 week tour of New Zealand. We booked a studio room but it was so small that we had problems knowing where to put things. There was a microwave, kettle and a toaster but it was impossible to do anything other than a basic breakfast of cereal and toast.... More

We booked into this accommodation a couple of hours before we needed it, online. Alan gave us a warm welcome, showed us to our two bed roomed unit. Which was clean and comfortable and as described a five minute walk from the city and other amenities. We did not hear traffic and the units are in a nice part of... More

When it is word of mouth you generally know what to.expect. Well Victoria Lodge goes that extra mile. Pru and Alan Hope are amazing - excellent hosts and we stayed in a 2 bedroom self contained Spa Apartment / Sky tv / dvd player AND the Spar Bath....A great fun couple providing sound value....word of mouth worked for me plus... My friend and I stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was tidy and comfortable, and I appreciated the fact that there was a kitchen to use if need be. The location was also very handy. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt the hospitality shown by the hosts Alan and Prue was so exceptional that I had to... More

Bedroom was comfortable but not large and good for a three night stay. Got a lot of help from the manager about what was the best things to see and do in Rotorua and Victoria Lodge is so handy to town everything is only a few minutes away. The big down side was the internet connection which was time limited... More

I stayed at Victoria Lodge in December and had an amazing experience. Such a great place to stay with the personal touch. You feel like home away from home.Nice rooms, convenient location and owners happy to chat with you. Ewa (Sydney-Australia)

The toilet doesn't flush. The shower doesn't work. The tap in the bathtub is useless, the water actually turns off when you switch the mixer to hot. I hung my towel on the rail and the rail broke. The 2 bedroom family room we paid $225 a night for is so small you can't even walk around the sides of... More

We thought we would try a motel after using B&Bs, farmstays and hotels. We chose a large unit with two bedrooms and a large open plan living/dining/kitchen. It worked well for us as we had family visiting and needed room for chatting etc. The unit was more than adequate even though a little basic with slightly 'fragile' stairs. The beds... More

Lovely very well kept apartments with nice big sofas in the living room, comfy beds and fantastic bathrooms. Good location in Rotorua and friendly, helpful staff. Good value. Only downside is the smell of egg coming through the windows but that's just Rotorua for you!
