We got room 8 which is a studio room. Paid $131 for the night. Way overpriced. Spa pool was a joke, water was cold and to gain access to the pool, you had to climb out a window in the bathroom. You could only fill it to the level of the first step and the pool is made of very... More

Dear Sir, Madam, We are sorry to hear your experience in staying with us in room No 5 (Correction not room 8) was not as pleasing as you had hoped, and yes the relentless noise from the tail of the hurricane from Auckland that Rotorua was experiencing on the night in question, was keeping most of the neighbourhood of Rotorua... Visited Rotorua and the Victoria Lodge for my first trip to NZ. The rooms small yet comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The private outdoor thermal pool really made the experience for us.

We were very happy with our family apartment on our recent stay in Rotorua. The rooms were adequate size and very clean. Our hosts were extremely helpful, supplying brochures and discount coupons as we were discussing possibilities. The hotel is less than a block from a grocery and liquor store, and only a few blocks from shopping, museums and free... More

Great location. We could walk to everything. Alan was a ton of help to give us ideas of what to do. We loved the thermal pool. The bed was a little uncomfortable. That was my only wish for change. I would recommend this place to stay.

We felt this was the worst accommodation we had during our 5 week tour of New Zealand. We booked a studio room but it was so small that we had problems knowing where to put things. There was a microwave, kettle and a toaster but it was impossible to do anything other than a basic breakfast of cereal and toast.... More

We booked into this accommodation a couple of hours before we needed it, online. Alan gave us a warm welcome, showed us to our two bed roomed unit. Which was clean and comfortable and as described a five minute walk from the city and other amenities. We did not hear traffic and the units are in a nice part of... More

When it is word of mouth you generally know what to.expect. Well Victoria Lodge goes that extra mile. Pru and Alan Hope are amazing - excellent hosts and we stayed in a 2 bedroom self contained Spa Apartment / Sky tv / dvd player AND the Spar Bath....A great fun couple providing sound value....word of mouth worked for me plus... My friend and I stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was tidy and comfortable, and I appreciated the fact that there was a kitchen to use if need be. The location was also very handy. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt the hospitality shown by the hosts Alan and Prue was so exceptional that I had to... More

Bedroom was comfortable but not large and good for a three night stay. Got a lot of help from the manager about what was the best things to see and do in Rotorua and Victoria Lodge is so handy to town everything is only a few minutes away. The big down side was the internet connection which was time limited... More
