Nothing is too much trouble for Gina or Kim. This place is spotlessly clean. Thoughtful but unobtrusive service. Excellent! Had two fabulous nights here, would have happily spent two weeks here! Breakfast was a delight, the generous and varied items were beautifully presented.

The room looking over the lawn to the lake was special and the morning sunrise beautiful. The room was superb (next to the office) and the hosts very special. Far away from the town centre but easy to get to for the evening meal this was a magic place. The breakfasts were superb and sitting in the sun was abonus.

We were told on the website that we would have tea etc on arrival, did not happen, no issues with that. From parking area to room at night is pitch dark maybe at the exorbitant charges a light/s could be installed. Next day found spider webs all over deck chairs. When we decided to use the spa, you could potentially... More

This was our favorite lodging of our two week trip to New Zealand. We loved that it was far enough north of city center that odor was not a problem. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and our room had a lovely view. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts and the welcome coffee with brownies on the day of our arrival. Our... More

We unfortunately arrived here as cyclone Luci arrived and had 2 solid days of rain, this meant we couldn't really enjoy the beautiful view over the lake. The room itself was great as was the bathroom. A little noisy as the rain fell but we were greeted by a really cheerful receptionist who asked what we wanted to see while... More

This is right by the lake, beautiful views, kayaks available, delicious breakfast. The rooms (lakeview standard) are immaculately clean and elegant, however are noisy because you can hear all that goes on in the adjoining rooms. This does not change the fact that this is a wonderful place to stay.

The Lodge is in a wonderful location but is some way out of town ($NZ 20.00) by cab each way. We both thought that we were being processed in a rather offhand way on arrival. Our main problem was with breakfast which unlike other B&Bs was not a matter of choice but what you were given. In addition it was... More

Thank you for the constructive criticism, it is upsetting to us that Koura Lodge hospitality did not match our beautiful property and location. The lack of hospitality and breakfast comment are of shock to us, as these are two very important aspects to our business and reasons we have many repeat guests. Either our managers were having a bad day... More

Koura Lodge is right on the shore of Lake Rotorua, but it is a bit difficult to find, being a short drive from the town centre and down a steep drive (just wide enough!) with a very small signpost to tell you that you have arrived. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, and we were welcomed by Kim - an... More

Our second visit to the Lodge which we highly recommend. Though only a few minutes drive from the centre it's setting gives the rooms a secluded feel being set down a slope at the lakes edge. Mature trees shield ii from surrounding buildings. Can swim in the lake and canoes are also available. Modern wooden buildings are very comfortable with... More

The rooms are modern, clean and stylish. Lovely shower and decked area outside the rooms. Free kayaks..a nice touch. Breakfast not as good as we had expected...no bacon, eggs etc as we had read but what was there was fine. Free wifi is advertised but this only lasts a very short time after which you need to buy more...VERY PENNYPINCHING.... More
