Robertson House is a charming house in Rotorua. It is really close to the main attractions of the city and our room and bathroom were huge and confortable. But the best part of it, as most of the reviews have told, was John, the host. He is one of the nicest people we have met in NZ. He gave us... More

Robertson house is a property of real character which happens to be run by a real character too! John is a charming, helpful host who makes his guests feel really welcome. The house dates back to about 1880 and is the New Zealand equivalent of a listed building. Our room opened on to a delightful balcony. The furnishings were in... More

We had read the glowing reviews of the Robertson House on TripAdvisor before our visit to New Zealand, so we knew we were in for a treat. It certainly didn't disappoint. John is the consummate host, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our down time in Rotorua, sitting in the lounge with him, just chatting like old friends. Our room and... More

As per the other reviews, this is a delightful house with a lot of historic charm. John, the host, is a lovely man with a lot of information about the area and things to do. His dog Loki is probably the most adorable fluff-ball you'll ever see. We were in the "Gold" room, I think. It has a beautiful big... More

We stayed here for only one night wished it had been more. Our host was John, who was friendly and helpful. The house had been restored beautifully with very idividual rooms and bathrooms. Location was good, we wish we could have stayed longer.

The highlight of our visit to Rotorua was staying in Robertson House and enjoying the company of our charming host, John, and Loki, his very special dog. The house has been lovingly restored to provide beautiful period rooms with great bathrooms. It was a wonderful contrast to the very modern centre of Rotorua, but close enough to walk to restaurants... More

We stayed here during our honeymoon in New Zealand and we do not regret it. The rooms are large, the beds are extremely comfortable and the shower is great. The B & B is ideally located near to Rotorua and its outside tourist attractions. John is an extremely welcoming host who is happy to give you tips about what to... More

This is a lovely house and a great host. The room is in a beautifully restored older house. Nice and warm and comfortable. John greeted us as soon as we arrived. After we settled in, he gave us a map and tips for things to see and do. He also likes a chat. Walking distance to the town centre and... More

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by our host John we liked this place. John is simply the best host we encountered on a 4-week trip through NZ. Entertaining, informing and always ready for a nice talk. The house is gordious. We stayed in the big room in front of the house. He originally put us there, but... More
