Rotorua is well worth seeing. Loads to see and do. Beware of a Maori Concert and dinner if it entails a bus ride. The bus drivers are MAD. The IBIS Hotel was below standard. Double Room included a single bed, which made it nearly impossible to walk around the room. Not Good. If you get this hotel in any itinerary... more
Cental hotel on 4 floors. We were on the 4th floor in a recently re-decorated room. Lake views, large bed, fridge, safe, ensuite, plenty of towels & toiletries. Breakfast was $19 per person for cooked & continental. more
Stayed here recently while at a conference in Rotorua. It was a clean enough room, though mine didn't have a view at all. The location was fantastic in terms of being able to stroll through town and down to the lakeside. A few things were just a bit tired though - the bathroom was TINY and the shower leaked all... more
I have reviewed the Novotel, which is the sister Accor property and right next to the Ibis in Rotorua. I still usually prefer to stay at the Ibis for the following reasons: 1) The price is always about 100NZD per night cheaper than the Novotel, despite being in the same location 2) The Ibis is clean, comfortable and has very... more
The Hotel Ibis is a newer building and it deserves the 3 star rating I believe it has. It is modern and clean in a European way. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side but functional and comfortable and clean. Our room only had a shower but the bathroom was overall satisfactory. The hotel has a lounge in... more
We stayed here for one night only but could have stayed longer. It is a typical Ibis Hotel. What set it apart was the very friendly and welcoming staff. It is also very conveniently located in Rotorua. The beautiful lake and Maori village Ohinemutu are just minutes away. There are also heaps of restaurants and cafes nearby. The venue was... more
We stayed 1 night at the Ibis Hotel Rotorua in April 2007. For a walk-in room rate of $116 per night we got a typical Ibis hotel room on the 4/F with a lake view. Free carparking under the hotel was included. The Ibis Front Desk staff were very friendly and genuinely helpful in the nicest of ways and it... more
I stayed at the Ibis Rotorua in November 2005 and it was a good base for travelling around this small town. The hotel is easy to find and it has good parking at the rear of the hotel. The rooms are very well equiped and are kept clean the breakfast in the hotel is also very reasonable and has plenty... more
Not a bad hotel but almost certainly not the best value to be found in Rotorua. Expect a small room, with shower only (i.e. no bath). If you're lucky you may get a lake view. If you're unlucky (like me) you'll have a view of the Novotel carpark instead. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I certainly... more
