My husband and stayed here for just the one night as a very extravagant birthday present to myself on our driving tour of the north island. Once we arrived however, we realised more than one night is required to truly appreciate the property. However, the staff ensured we made the most of our time. 1) do the walk to Bridal... More

We had a had a good time because the state is beautiful, but we did a mistake choosing the cottage to stay. They treat it as a different product and don't clean it properly and not even even send bath robes there though it is still very expensive.

We stayed at TreeTops at the beginning of a 2.5 week tour of NZ; the road winding up to the lodge is charming and, though unpaved, serves as a sort of slowdown in preparation of the relaxed and kind atmosphere of the Lodge ahead; after winding our way for a few short minutes through an enchanting, woody area, we turned... Our family secured the entire lodge for three nights, at the beginning of our travel holiday. The manager and staff were extremely accommodating with our food requests and individual needs. The lodge and dining areas are clean, spacious and well laid out. Our villas and rooms were equipped with up to date amenities and well stocked. The grounds are gorgeous... More

I booked a room at the last minute for a price 1600 NZ$ (1000€ or 7000 RMB) because I saw great feedbacks and expecting to have a luxury experience: check in done standing up at the entrance of the lodge, in rush because of serving the dinner; I didn't even get my room key; after dinner I had to go... Dear Scarda77, Thank you for your comment; we appreciate all feedback and the independence Tripadvisor in giving guests a voice to share in their experience. I was very disappointing to read your review in light of your experience, the overwhelming comment that I receive on a daily basis is of delighted guests but I do accept that everyone has a... More

I am very glad to have stayed in this lodge. The location was great and it was surrounded by many tracks, we did one hike to the waterfall and that was amazing, hiking through the peaceful forest and exploring the nature of New Zealand. The seperate lodges are spacious and luxurious while the rooms in the main lodge are a... More

Treetops was one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Not just because of the scenery and luxurious accommodation, but because of the staff. There are so warm and friendly, and make you feel like family during your stay. I strongly recommend horse riding up to Bridal Veil Falls, and doing a game drive to see the property and... More

This is a small, beautiful, intimate lodge. Great food, lovely surroundings, very helpful, friendly staff. There is lots to do including hiking their beautiful trails, sightseeing on the property, hunting, helicopter rides, horseback riding etc. Most of the activities are extra. A little pricy. On one side, our room looked out on a service road and the garbage collection area,... More

Luxurious but not at all stuffy. Our room had all the comforts we expected as well as some lovely surprise inclusions. These little touches continued to delight us throughout our stay, which was nowhere near long enough. We will try to book a whole week next time, there's so much we didn't fit in to our 4 day stay.

Although I can understand that many of the visitors to Treetops are international guests, as Aucklanders we also appreciated being able to stay somewhere so special, for a particular occasion perhaps, just a three hour drive from home. There were many things to enjoy. The beautiful bush setting was wonderful, with well marked walks on the property. Our walk to... More
