Arrived with email confirmation to be told hadn't got room for us. After much confusion found we had a double for one night then had to change rooms. This hostel is a joke, not of usual yha standard. Staff are rude and very unhelpful. Its is run-down, smelly and dirty. Sworn at by staff and told that we were "being annoying" by asking them to book our onward YHA hostel (which is part of their service). Dorm rooms dated, collapsed beds and very cramped. We stayed at Kiwi Paka on April 6th, 2006 in double lodge room. The rooms were basic with a bed and a desk and enough room to lay one suitcase on the floor.
