This hotel had loads of perks - huge all year round heated pool, gym. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Every thing clean and neat, right down to the folded hand towels in the ground floor toilets! The buffet breakfast was great, although none of the restaurant staff looked particularly happy, there was a huge range of food that... More

Stayed one night. Standard double bed room - mattress quite soft and springy was expecting more firm. Hotel and room smells of faint rotten eggs (due to geothermal pool in the back of the hotel which contains sulfur). Bathroom clean. Overall good stay, got a good night's rest.

If you are mountain biking in Rotorua this is a good option for staying. They have secure bike storage and a bike wash which is really handy. The rooms are adequate and the beds very comfortable. Car parking and location both good. The staff we encountered were all friendly. The only downside is the number of organised tours staying which... More

Excellent location, easy to find, ample parking and a very pleasant check-in. We had a room up on the top floor level 5 with views out to Lake Rotorua and a side view of the steaming Whakarewarewa Thermal Park. The room was clean, fresh, spacious with a very comfortable bed. A very enjoyable overnight stay.

The hotel is is a great location, close to the Maori village and the thermal areas. It was clean, our room was large, well furnished, overlooked the thermal walk and the pool. The staff were very helpful, endlessly patient. The bar food was good and served by friendly, efficient staff. The pool area was well maintained and clean. It's about... More

Spacious room consisting of 2 queen beds were provided to us, in the new wing of the hotel on the ground floor, although we were only staying one night. Walls are thin so could hear guests next door going in and out of their room and talking in the hallway. Otherwise, room itself was very comfortable as was bathroom and... More

a great location, superb breakfast and very clean rooms. Staff are all very friendly and facilities in the new block are spotless. Remember sulphur in the air corrodes metal and the hotel is next to an active set of thermals, so give the maintenance guys a break. Rooms facing the thermals have stunning views.

Holiday Inn's can be much of a muchness as well you generally know what you're going to get but this one seems definitely a cut above the average as it is larger and feels more spacious somehow. We stayed there for two nights exploring the Rotorua area whilst touring New Zealand. We were allocated a decent size room overlooking the... More

First off, the hotel was very nice for a Holiday Inn. It is nestled in a prime location if you want to visit the Whakarewarewa Redwoods, the Whakarewarewa village, or Te Puia, they are all within walking distance. Just be prepared for the smell of the thermal activity. This is a hydrothermal area and the smell of sulphur dioxide is... More
