We were a bunch of Travel Agent co-workers on a night out - mainly to go to the Tamaki Maori Village show. (Excellent by the way) I found the Novotel to be a pleasant hotel. It's about 5 minutes walk from the CBD. The rooms are nice and spacious with comfortable beds. We had one of the lakeview rooms, and... more

Everything was OK about this typical Accor business hotel, until things went quet at night. As plain as day we could hear every word spoken by the gent in the room next door. And as if that were not bad enough, he ordered room service and we could clearly and plainly hear the knife and fork being used on his... more

We stayed at Novotel one night and wish we had stayed longer. The staff were brilliant, friendly and very helpful. There is little or none of the notorious 'Rotorua smell'. Great views overlooking the lake. Parking is free and breakfast was good for a chain hotel. I've stated at Novotel in Sydney and Melbourne and they could learn a thing... more

We have just returned staying 4 nights at Novotel Lakeside in Rotorua. My husband was attending a work conference in Rotorua and as we are Accor Club members decided to stay here rather than at the hotel where the conference was being held (this was also due to some research I did on TA with not so good reviews on... more

The lakeside hotel novotel is a getaway from the hustle and bustle... but not too away. close to the hotel is a pizza hut... people with kids are you reading... walking few minutes you are in the heart of rotorua. the rooms are spacious for two people. you can easily accomodate kids if you are a family of three. cleanliness... more

The Novotel in Rotorua is a pleasant hotel with a great location close to everything. The rooms are nice and spacious with comfortable beds. I would reccomend requesting a lake view room otherwise you'll end up with a view of a carpark. The hotel facilities are excellent with a heated thermal swimming pool, two spas and saunas and a decent... more

We could not fault the hotel, the room we were given was very spacious, spotlessly clean, with an awesome view of the lake in Rotorua. Very central to wherever we wanted to go, walking distance to an array of restaurants and shops. The staff were obliging and helpful at all times. The Front desk staff at check-in and check-out were... more

We are frequent travellers and have stayed at MANY hotels. This hotel was very average. Seemed to cater for business people not holidayers. But the double beds we cannot get over. We paid for a superior lakeside room and were given 2 double beds for our stay. We cannot remember the last time we slept in a double bed and... more

Stayed one night here while in town to see the geothermal sights. While there was nothing wrong with the hotel it is very average and no-frills. It would be ok for a business trip but for vacation I prefer something more luxurious but this seemed to be one of the nicer hotels in Roturua. Do not expect much luxury in... more

We have generally been very pleased with the novotel chain throughout europe, asia, and elsewhere and this hotel fit the novotel experience we expected. We had a beautiful lakeside room, rate was 160NZ/night (given the strength of the US dollar at the time, it was very good deal). Standard well kept beds, sitting area with flat screen TV, and very... more
