We stayed three nights and chose this hotel for its location. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom we were fortunate to have a room with a balcony and a view of the lake. We were not put off by the sulphur smell as we were expecting to experience something as we were so close to the lake. Occasionally we noticed the... More

Booked 3 nights and it was rather an unpleasant experience. Encountered a receptionist who was not particularly polite and poor in communication skills. She has failed to solve our bathroom problem with water leakage despite telling her many times. The hotel inner decor is old and rustic with a very strong smell of sulphur from lake rotorua. This gives us... More

Yes, it has privacy, lakeside views, walks, nearby supermarket and mcD's, spa pools, heated mineral pools, restaurants, reasonably-priced room service, helpful staff What more could you need? Recently had a very nice stay there for 4 nights and found it everything you'd need for a pleasant holiday stay. Highly recommended.

We were a team of golfers staying at the Sudima for the NZ Women's Masters tournament at Springfield Golf course. The rooms were great with comfortable beds and good strong showers. We used room service one night and had the gourmet burger, it was very nice, couldn't finish all the chips... We made use of the hot pool after playing... More

Room came equipped only with tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. It was mid sized with tired looking decor both in the room and public corridors. Constant stench of sulphur dioxide in the area, and cooking smells from the restaurant and kitchen which roof our window overlooked. Nothing outstanding to remark about this hotel, and we did not use the... More

The hotel is right next to the lake. We took a hike on a trail along the lake immediately after checking in. The walk is all right, not that impressive. We had dinner there experiencing the Maori Hangi and concert. The dining hall cum entertainment area is a bit too crowded especially with many coach tour clients. Food is average.... More

Except Novotel Rotorua, this place is the best bet for a lakeside property...this place has a great view, good rooms, very good staff...a very good breakfast. The spas are also very good. The famous Polynesian spa is just a 1 minute walk and food street is a 5 min drive. Great value for money...

We booked two rooms at Sudima Rotorua for a weekend away with the family. I was very impressed with the level of service we received, both in the restaurant and at reception. The rooms were clean and modern. The buffet selection for breakfast was comprehensive and well stocked. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family.

Stayed here for two nights. Breakfast was extremely poor, virtually no fresh fruit on offer for continental breakfast and cooked breakfast was appalling, lukewarm to cold sloppy scrambled eggs, cold crispy bacon. Service was poor. Dinner was also disappointing, meat being generally chewy and tasteless and vegetables were not hot. This is a busy hotel with lots of coach tour... More

Lovely greeting with all the trimmings, I felt as if I was the only guest there., as it was actually so busy. Meals were hot, the breakfast was full of lots of choice. Even the evening meal was a delight to have. Reception and waiters including bar staff so friendly thank you to all
