Only spent one night here ... although Rotorua is known for its smell of sulphur, it was quite strong here as the hotel is right next to the lake. Room was clean, staff were friendly, but this was the only hotel we stayed at during our holiday where wifi wasn't free. Convenient location though - not far from the city... More

We absolutely loved the hotel over looking the Lake Rotorua. Room was pretty cozy and nicely sized with pretty much all the amenities one would want in a hotel room. Reception staff was very warm and welcoming . Would for sure visit again in the winter.

We stayed for two nights in this wonderfully situated hotel. Of course the downside with the superb view of the lake is that the sulphur is a little overwhelming! The reception staff were so friendly and helpful - the Maori Night was fully booked, so they organised an outside one for us which was excellent. They also recommended the truly... More

Rotorua is a famous hot-springs resort town, so you should know that anywhere near the lake will smell like rotten eggs due to the high sulfur content of the lake. This is not the fault of any hotels nearby, but it is a reality and if you don't like those smells you might want to avoid locations near the lake.... More

The sulphuric emission smell was overwhelming. Unable to escape it. Our room was ground floor, left wing towards the back. Big hotel, therefore big bus loads of tourists arriving late, leaving early, very noisy. Only one facility for one suitcase, had to put our other suitcase on the floor. Desperately needs a makeover re the curtains/bedding, very 1970's. Staff were... More

Disappointed, the room I had faced the state highway and was very noisy, trucks going past til 1.00 in the morning and again at 6.00 am. I was told on paying that there is a 1.5% surcharge for using credit card this is the first time in any hotel, I have had to pay a surcharge, if I had known... More

Hotel right on the lake. Walking distance to shops and just down the road from Polynesian Spa. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. Buffet breakfast available in restaurant - friendly staff. Very quiet hotel.

Stayed here with Kirra Tours in January. Decent, clean rooms and comfortable lounge and dining area. However, the hotel abuts a salty pond connected to Rotorua's famous hot springs. Consequently, the air stinks off sulfurous emissions which are not present anywhere else in the city- even a block away. Buyer beware.
