After a long day of traveling we got a heart warming welcome. The next day (and all days we stayed) we got a luxurious breakfast with a lot of home made food. The kids loved the animals, treasurehunt, play room and cinema. It was sometimes hard to leave and get them to see the beautifull surroundings. Because of the kids... More

My wife, 18 month old son and I stayed 4 nights at Mokoia Downs in February 2015 and had an absolutely fantastic stay. The place has a great playroom for kids, a cinema lounge, pool and a beautiful garden with animals such as donkeys, sheep, guinea pigs, ducks and chickens. The owner Mick and Teresa made us feel at home... More

My wife, son and I had a wondeful two days in Mokioa Downs. From the instant we arrived Teresa and Mick made us feel so welcome. Their introductory tea and delicious home baking on their picturesque veranda set the scene for the rest of our stay.Throughout our stay Mick and Teresa were available to assist us with all our requirements... Mick and Theresa run their B&B from a beautiful and secluded small holding close to Rotorua. They are friendly and welcoming hosts who, from the moment you arrive, happily share their home with you. They offer so much...immaculate, comfortable rooms, a library area (with hundreds of books), a conservatory, a swimming pool, an Indie cinema (stocked with DVDs), a bar... More

From the moment you arrive Mick and Teresa make you welcome. The setting is really tranquil and encourages chill out time.Micks cocktail hour is great and Teresas home cooking is equally as good.We stayed at lots of great B and Bs in New Zealand but can honestly say this was one of the best.If in Rotorua don't stay anywhere else!

My husband and I had a lovely weekend get away at Mokoia Downs. Mick and Teresa are welcoming hosts who go out of their way to make your feel welcome and to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. The excellent and large breakfast was a highlight as was the "welcome" coffee and cake and the Happy Hour at the... More

We enjoyed three weeks in New Zealand travelling through the North and South Island and we stayed in some charming places throughout our stay but our stay with Mick and Teresa in Makoia Downs was certainly a highlight of our holiday. Mick and Teresa were warm, friendly, helpful fantastic hosts. Between them they really spoilt us with the most tremendous... More

We just returned from our travels in New Zealand. Most places we stayed in were nice and clean. However, the highlight of our trip was our stay at Mokoia Downs B&B in a historic location in Rotorua, with lovely couple, Mick and Teresa. It is by far the best of any B&B or hotel experience we’ve had. It was paradise... More

As it was my first time in New Zealand, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from any of the places I stayed in. During my holiday I travelled around the North Island a fair bit, staying in everything from backpackers to B+B's. Whilst there was an inevitable fluctuation in the quality of hospitality and service, overall the places I... More

Just returned from a month touring in New Zealand which included a wonderful 2 night stay at Mokoia Downs. The location was peaceful and attractive yet only a few minutes drive to all the Rotorua scenic highlights. Mick and Teresa have a charming relaxed style which disguises the hard work and attention to detail they apply to making this a... More
