This Lodge has its own hot Springs which is a good point. However, the room was very dirty (especially the curtains). It would have been acceptable regarding the affordable price of the room but the point is that the host was not very helpful to fix up Internet connection. I reported him that his Wifi was not working and he... More

This hotel is cheap, but not worth the cost. We were looking for a private room and bathroom, so something better than a hostel but less expensive than a hotel, so we thought Utuhina Lodge would be perfect, plus it had hot pools on site which would save us from having to visit a paid hot springs. Unfortunately the whole... More

We arrived to Rotorua at 10.30 pm, after driving most of the day. Our original (in-town) accommodation which we had booked a few days earlier was closed. I called the emergency line explaining we had a room booked and that we had just arrived unfortunately later than we expected. The woman on the phone couldn't really careless, and said she... More

This was a last minute booking and the price was good. Unfortunately the accommodation was not great. The room we had was tidy and the bedding clean however the room was in a really poor condition. The noise from traffic was also bad and the curtains did nothing to block out the street light. The shower was in poor condition... More

we were very worried initially after we booked this place and read all the negative reviews. Upon arrival we thought the place was run down but as we were taken to our lodge it was clean and spacious. Caleb, the site manager really go extra mile to ensure we are happy and make our stay very comfortable and pleasant. We... More

On first glance this hotel seems a bit run down and old - well it is a little - it was built in the 1930's!! That said, it was the best place that I stayed in NZ. The owner was an absolute legend. Running around after us like we were royalty. There were several private hot springs to choose from.... More

Attentive host, Very adequate, Clean and tidy. Venue looks like it is in the process of undergoing updating and some renovation. Hot springs available onsite. We were able to very successfully entertain our visitors using the outdoor steaming facilities (hangi).

I know that there is a bach culture in NZ and you have to accept that some places will be a bit rough and ready but there is no excuse for filth. This place is a complete tip and felt more like a dosshouse than a motel. Even backpackers must balk at staying here. The paving is all broken and... More

We stayed here on Sunday night....and we will NEVER be back! We got there quite late at night, and if I wasn't so buggered I would've asked for my money back and gone somewhere else. We paid $150 for 1 night. The grounds were terrible with the pavers all falling to bits. Our room was not vacuumed, the wallpaper falling... More
