After looking through the many lodging options in Rotorua, we decided on this based on recommendations here. Didn't regret. Patricia and Ken are such hospitable guests; they spent time talking to us about our itinerary for the next 2 days and booked us into Canopy Tours and Mital Maori concert on Sunday during the busy Labour holiday weekend. A brilliant hint from my son - get out of mainstream Rotorua to the lakes for stunning peace and beauty - he was right. The B&B at Lake Okareka is beautiful - the room really luxurious, private, comfortable, overlooking the lake. Stunning spot. Wi-fi in the room, lovely tea/coffee etc. Ken and Patricia are delightful hosts, very helpful and welcoming,... More

Ken and Trich made our stay very memorable. Their home is lovely and they embody all that is good about New Zealand. They are friendly, giving and have a great sense of humor. Ken lent us a couple of his fly-rods to do a bit of fishing and when we brought back a 8lb monster trout he managed to get... More

We chose to stay out of Rotarua to escape the smell, for one thing, and be near to the beautiful countryside around the four nearby lakes, Blue, Green, Okareka and Tarawera. As other reviewers have said, a lovely outlook over Lake Okareka from both the breakfast table and our room. The breakfast was good, although we didn't try the cooked.... More

Patricia and Ken were wonderful hosts, assisting with our itinerary, welcome cup of tea etc. Breakfast was delightful overlooking the lake. Clean compfortable room and kitchenette and particularly enjoyed using the BBQ. The view from the room's large balcony was as good as the website. Hope Ken enjoyed his weekly assessment by Patricia

Very clean , comfortable and quiet rooms. Reliable advices on the places to visit in the vicinity ( a lot to see , very good walks at the door of the B$B...). In... More

Patricia and Ken showed us to our lovely room overlooking the Lake. They made us very welcome and Ken was a font of all knowledge for the local area. Their local area is a haven for wildlife and has a dedicated wildlife reserve on the doorstep. If you want culture and nature this is the place for you ...you will... More

Patricia has a beautiful house right on Okareka Lake. this is 10 mins easy drive from Rotorua so quiet and no sulphur smell. The house is charming and Particia makes you very welcome. Both rooms are at the front with lake views each with their own terrace and one can use a lounge and large front terrace. A really nice... More
