Rooms are well appointed and meticulously clean. We were warmly welcomed and felt relaxed and well-cared for during our stay. The views are superb! You can be assured of a very comfortable stay. We loved it!

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting the area over Christmas. We are a family with 3 children aged 7, 10 and 12, and we stayed in the self catering cottage. It had a double bedroom, a bunk bed room and then the living room has a comfortable sofa bed. We had the best time staying here.... More

This was our first B&B experience and it did not disappoint. We had an amazing time at City Lights! The host, Angie, was very friendly and helpful in providing us with information and suggestions of things to see and places to go in the area. We stayed in the Kiwi room which was of sufficient size. The room was comfortable... More

Don't worry about the distance from town, it really isn't far and it is well worth the extra 5-10 minute drive to get there because you can get away from any sulfuric smells and the views are just stunning from up the hill. The city lights at night are beautiful to look at and the views during the day are... More

My wife and I recently stayed 4 nights in the Tui room at City Lights. Like the title of this review suggests, it was a really good experience all round. Leigh and Angie were the best of hosts and gave us lots of good advice about how to spend our holiday. We would highly recommend this place. The breakfast was... More

This accommodation is about 10 minutes out of the center of Rotorua. It looks at onto some beautiful alpacas and suburban lights below. Its a quiet location with no sulfur smell. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of toys and books for the kids, as well as a little garden to run around in.... More

We were "blown away" by this gorgeous B&B. Very modern, spacious and spotless. The bathroom alone was worth the stay! The setting was peaceful and breakfast was so delicious and enjoyable with the other guests. Thank you Lee and Angie for making us feel so comfortable and welcomed. We wish we could have stayed longer.

On arrival we were met by Angie and later Leigh and shown to a well presented room with patio doors that opened to the garden the view over Rotorua was really good. Thank you for your lovely review. We enjoyed meeting with you & were also sorry that you were only with us for 1 night & didn't really get to enjoy being with us as much as you could do. Rotorua has so much to offer with lots of things to do that 1 night is not enough. We hope you... More

We stayed in the independent self catering cottage and it was a wonderful base for exploring Rotorua. Up high, away from the crowds, yet close enough if you have a car. The cottage is just below the main lodge yet private enough (especially if they add a blind to the laundry door). It is very comfortable, with nice attention to... More

Thank you for your review. It was great to meet you both & we are glad that you enjoyed your stay in our Cottage. Thank you for your suggestions, which we greatly appreciated. We have now fitted a sliding door to the laundry area which adds to the privacy. We only took over the business in December 2014 and have... More

We chose to stay here because I had read that it was above the smell line around Roturoa. I hadn't realised that this meant we had probably the best view over Rotorua and the lake - absolutely astounding - especially whilst having breakfast and looking through the patio doors. Breakfast itself was wonderful with home made lemon curd, peanut butter... More
