We most enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Lake House, and particularly the warmth of the hosts. They clearly love Rotorua and provided great recommendations. Each morning we had a wonderful breakfast, with a treat made to order. We very much felt at home. We stayed in the second floor panorama suite which provides a wonderful lake view, as... More

We were two couples traveling together and booked this B&B in advance. The location was great, out of the tourist bustle of Rotorua, with any site we wanted to see easily accessible. Shula's lake house has an amazing view from two of its 3 rooms and a great back deck available to all guests. From the deck there is a... More

Shula's Lake House is located on the lake around 8km north of Rotorua. This is a great location as it is not far from the tourist centre with its hot springs and Maori experiences but away from the bustle of the town and its odour of sulphur. There are uninterrupted views from the house which has lawns running down to... More

Shulas lake house was among the more expensive B&B's we stayed in on our recent holiday to New Zealand . Although the host was welcoming ,the breakfast good and the location amazing , the establishment was dated ,and the furniture in the suite decidedly tatty ,and the bed was very hard . The 'hot tub' was covered the two days... More

Stayed for 3 nights at Shula's lake house. We had the panoramic suite and it certainly was, with lovely views across the lake from our own private balcony and lounge area. Ginie was very friendly and left homemade cookies in our room. We were able to do some washing whilst there which was useful when travelling around. Breakfasts were different... More

We are from Banjarmasin Borneo Indonesia, this is our first experience with bed and breakfast. We were greeted by Ginie and Bob as a host and made most welcome from the time we arrived to the time we left with the most excellent service, food and very nice room ( feel like in our home ). My Children were so... More

For our honeymoon, my husband and I traveled around New Zealand, and stayed at Shula's Lake House during our North Island adventures. Ginnie and Bob are wonderful hosts and Ginnie makes a mean breakfast! The area is beautiful and our downstairs room had a patio overlooking Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. We felt right at home. We would definitely visit... More

An absolute waterfront location, tranquil and restful. Our hosts were welcoming without being intrusive, the breakfasts were varied and delicious and we loved watching the ducks and swans, not just on the lake but foraging on shore right under our noses. A walking track right into the city. All the little details that make for an enjoyable stay had been... More

Ginie and Bob were great hosts and made you feel welcome the minute you entered. The location is gorgeous on the lake front. The breakfasts were very good. We caught a fish and we shared it with Ginie and Bob at dinner and had a great time with them. It was like leaving family when we moved on. It is... More
