I spent three nights in one of the standard rooms (with a shared bathroom) in the main house. I had the bathroom facilities for myself, however. The place was spotless clean. You have a continental or full breakfast for an additional charge. There is a small hot springs swimmingpool surrounded by lush vegetation in the back. I always swam there... More

We stayed in the studio above the garage for 3 nights. The room is very sunny and nicely decorated. It has a living area with comfy couches and a nice tv (cable channels) & a kitchenette (stove, microwave, fridge). The bed is king sized and very comfortable. Arthur was just lovely! The location is convenient also - it's about a 10... More

I'm lost for words that will do justice to this wonderful place. We have been everywhere staying at bnbs but this tops the lot. Arthur was the perfect host and Pam was ever so friendly and a wealth of information. We were surprised by the size of the room, a very comfortable bed and your "Shower Dome" to reduce condensation... More

Best B&B experience i've ever had! The Lodge owner, Arthur, picked us up (and dropped us off) at the airport, that was a nice touch and very helpful! We got an immediate upgrade when we got there for the same price as the cheaper room we had booked! We ended up staying in the studio room above the garage and... More

if we would have known the quality of this B&B before getting there, we would have reserved more than 1 night, the room was immense and very well furnished, the heated pool was UN REAL and super hot ( due to the thermal vent ) it was the best stay possible especialy following a big hike in the Tongariro region... After traveled through NZ and stayed at 11 different lodges, Kuirau Lodge is surely the best of the best! We stayed 2 nights in the new chalet. It's perfect with everything! House as ''toulousekittie'' discribed. As a wheelchair user, the design of the house was really accessible to me. I do thanks the owner Arthur's kind and cared. Their lovely... More

I've been pondering what to put in this review. There are many great things about Kuirau Lodge, but it is not as good as some of the other places we've stayed at in New Zealand. I think "Excellent" should mean truly excellent and not just "Ok for the money", hence the "average" overall grade. I will therefore try to explain... More

We, two couples, stayed three nights in the new chalet added in 2011. The accommodations were wonderful. It is a 2-bed, 2-bath house with an open floorplan incorporating a full kitchen, living/dining area (with sleeper sofa). Completing the house is a laundry room (including detergent - very nice!), a covered back deck with dining table, grill, and private hot tub.... More

The 3 bedroom cottage was great, very quiet & homey with plenty of room for a family of 4-5 persons. Included a washer/dryer in laundry room, along with a back gate for convenient tour & taxi pickup. More
