Stayed at this hotel with a group. I suspect this is one of the best hotels in the area, but isn't great. The rooms are clean, and the beds comfortable. There is a glass door on the bathrooms, which I hate because you will wake up your partner if you use the bathroom at night. The hotel is on the... More

Two night stay, over the Easter weekend. Check in wa seamless . Room had no view of lake unless one stood in the doorway, but it was a well appointed studio double room. We had massages which were over priced and very ordinary. Hot tubs average. Dinner the first night was excellent. Was English the waitresses firstly language? Nothing wrong... More

Although it is a little bit too remote from the city center, Wai Ora Lakeside Spa Resort is just perfectly located on the dreamy lakeside, which enables you romantic and bucolic walks around or rejuvenating & revigoring lakeside yoga session on the beach at sunset. The venue itself is also dreamy. The rooms are spacious enough, very comfortable and perfectly... More

A great quaint hotel which is near the lake. The room was quiet and the restaurant onsite was excellent. You can access the lake from the hotel and there is a playground nearby making it great for both couples and families. A little way out of town, but that didn't really bother us for our stay.

My husband and I enjoyed one night at this resort after a stressful drive from Auckland to Rotorua in heavy rain. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant stayed open a bit later than scheduled to allow us to eat lunch since the trip took longer than anticipated and we were starved. The food was excellent (in fact... More

We were not so impressed with this "resort". It was OK but very run down we thought. Once we were in our room everything was fine as our suite was at the end closest to the lake. We saw the most amazing sunset from our room. The resort itself was not that nice. Crazy that we had such a hard... More

Im really sorry to say that, but the rooms here are so small like a smaller kontainer. Even i would not call as a room. I couldnt open well my luggage, there is no space for it. The rest is ok. Nothing special.

Three nights at the Wai Ora Lakeside Spa left a lot to be desired. Yes, it's lakeside: just a 400m walk from the property to the edge of the lake (which is also accessible by locals and other visitors). Yes, there is a spa there. But no, this is not a world-class spa retreat. First off is the pools: both... More

Well my experience with Wai Ora was very average. The rooms weren't bad but the commercial pictures put up on the site were misleading. The spa pool was rather small and the rooms weren't lake facing. The most disappointing aspect would be the breakfast! With few guests at the table, the spread was rather boring and limited.
