Had a great stay at the Bayview. We found it great value for money, the owner could not do more to make our stay better. Happy to chat and help out. The rooms were large, well appointed, modern and very clean. It's a nice walk into town after a good meal, but may be a little long for those who... more

myself, my 11 year old daughter and my sister , who was visiting from the UK stayed in the bay view. The apartments were clean and comfortable and the view over the bay was fantastic. Rose the owner of the complex was extreemly helpful in advising us on places to go and made our stay here very enjoyable. we had... more

My husband and I, and two children aged 11 and 7 had occasion to spend a couple of nights up in Paihia unexpectedly. We booked online in the Bounty just up the road, and spent a hideous night there, in the noisest tiny, dark and cramped room. We departed with alacrity the next morning, and decided to cruise around later,... more

Excellent position on seafront close to the wharf, restaurants and historical Waitangi. Rooms a good size, basically furnished but very comfortable, bar the sofa which was really squidgy and not at all comfortable. Good kitchen facilities and nice shower. Unit was very clean. Rose (owner) very friendly and helpful. No air conditioning, so might be very hot in summer. Quite... more

Very convenient location and rooms at the front have fantastic views. It is an old motel and showing its age but very comfortable. The furniture is a bit shabby and a big replacement program will soon be required. Fairly expensive but that's the Bay of Islands! Would stay again more

We stayed on the bottom floor in one of the units overlooking the water. The view was stunning. There were chairs and grass in front of the unit for our kids to play. The host was very accomodating and friendly. It was very close to everything - across the street to the boats and you could walk to the treaty... more

We had a great bay-view studio at the Bay View. The upstairs front rooms are really very nice for a motel-style property with views of the harbor, ferries and all of the islands. As everyone mentioned, Rose is the star of the show and she couldn't have been more pleasant and accommodating. She recommended a great restaurant (The Peppercorn) and... more

The ground floor studio we had for a couple of nights in Feb 08 was fine, everything worked and had it been for 3 people could be considered reasonably priced. However Paihia in general is on the pricey side and most hotels/apartments were already booked when I was arranging the trip in October 07. On previous occasions we have stayed... more

We enjoyed a wonderful week staying at this superbly located motel. The accommodation was spacious and beautifully maintained. Rose the host was absolutely fantastic as nothing was too much trouble to make our stay happy, fun and memorable. The views from the motel are stunning. Our reccommendation speaks for itself as we have booked toreturn in March 2008. Maureen and... more

Our travel agent placed us at Blue Pacific, which we thought was too pricey. We rebelled and contacted Rose, the owner & manager of Bayview Motel. She is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet! We reserved a studio, but after said Travel Agent changed our date of arrival, Rose placed us in a 1 bedroom unit on the... more
