We found Tanoa Hotel, Paihia to be great value for money. We paid $145 for one nights accomodation and that included a cooked breakfast which was very tasty. The rooms were modern, attractive, and very clean, as were the rest of the facilities. Fabulous sized bathrooms. The pool and spa area was lovely, and there was a great family area next... More

Dear Guest Thank you so much for your balanced review of our hotel. Your highlights of our services and staff is greatly appreciated and of course the cleanlines of the property and close close proximity to the town centre (and starting point of all site seeing excursions) is a definite plus for Guests staying with us. The two items you... More

We had booked ahead for two nights and on arrival our room was horrible - it smelt of mould and was so dark the light had to be on all the time. We complained and were given an 'upgrade'. The room thankfully didn't smell, but was just as dark, drab and tired as the last offering. The polite gentleman on... More

I'm sorry that our hotel and services didn't meet your expectation. We are a 3.5 Star establishment certified by Qualmark, the national standards rater and recognised internationally. We are also probably the most competitive price-wise in this area and offer a great product for the price and, we don't pretend to be anything other than what we are, which is,... More

We stayed for one night in summer. It was an easy place to find from the main road. Positives: -the shower had great pressure. Negatives: -bugs -outdated decor -'superior suite' had a tiny bed -overpriced -carpet manky, torn in places -no sky (and bad reception) That's all.

Dear Guest Thanks for taking the time to comment. The hotel is well located and all rooms have great shower pressure, as you point out. Just to put perspective on the bed sizes, all beds throughout the hotel are either QUEEN or KING SINGLE and most Guests find these comfortable and more than adequate. In terms of price, we are... After reading good reviews, I was happy with my choice of hotels. The staff were very nice, the rooms were comfortable BUT... 1) The walls are very thin. We could hear next door snoring and the floor board are super creaky. We could hear every step from the upstair guests who unfortunately woke up at the crack of dawn. 2)... More

Dear Reviewer Thank you for choosing to stay with us and thanks also for taking the time to review your stay. It's unfortunate that some Guests cause more distruption than most others but, in the main sound-proofing is generally not a source of complaint and I'm sorry that it was a problem during your stay. All shower heads are on... More

Accommodations were VERY nice. The staff was extremely helpful. On our way to the Tanoa Paihia for our first nights stay we had our rental car broken into. Our passports, my electronics and scuba gear, as well as money were stolen. We arrived late at Tanoa and they opened the dining for us, as well as giving us free access... More

Stayed 2 nights here and found the staff very helpful. Our party were shown to our room and have to say they were comfortable and spacious. This hotel is quiet and out of the way from the noise and bustle of Paihia. Well recommended and certainly will put this hotel on our stop over in Paihia.

Dear Guest Our location is definitely one of the important factors that we promote about our hotel. we are virtually in town but far enough away (400 meters) from the centre to avoid the hussle, bussle and noise especially during summer. With limited parking in town, our Guests find it convenient to leave their vehicle on the property since it... More

We stayed to days at the Tanoa. The Hotel is not as expensive as the Waterfront ones but still close to the waterfront itself. The staff is very very friendly! Close to everything, you can leave the car at the hotel and explore on foot. The room was good, the staff were great. Only drawback - no NZ wines served in the bar. Worth every cent. Swimming pool and spa pool. A beautiful spot with lots of good shopping nearby.

Arrived way earlier than check-in time, the friendly receptionist arranged a room immediately. Excellent room, perfect location. Next morning went for breakfast, which included bacon and ham and neither my brother nor I eat pork. Chef was kind enough to substitute lamb instead of bacon. Thank you.
