I stayed here one night on business and this hotel was perfect for my needs and well priced. Check in was quick and efficient and the staff were helpful and friendly providing local information. The room is large and spacious with a big comfortable bed and efficient heater. Mine was very clean. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open the night i... More

Nice little motel type hotel situated within easy walking distance of Paihia's shops and restaurants, but no view of the sea. Our room was spacious and had a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom, but a little tired looking. Very friendly staff on reception - we were given lots of useful information about the area and the trips available. We... More

Paihia is not a big city so all of the hotels are small. Like all of NZ it is a haven for backpackers. The hotel is a bit of a walk from downtown. The rooms may vary. I was in one of the ones in back. I think that it was 212. It was a very large bi-level room with... More

Although our room was of average size, it felt dark and rather cramped, with very old furniture and the carpet was filthy. Bathroom facilities were in real need of updating and the bathroom had not been cleaned properly. Also our kettle stopped working during the evening and the staff were unable to find a working one until the next day.... More

Fantastic place to stay, nice quiet, good pool, and we had a family unit and the beds are huge and comfortable. Staff were friendly and easy walking distance to beach and bars. Only downfall is the old equipment in the gym, it needs up grading!

A very relaxed place to stay in the Bay of Islands. 5 minute walk from center of town (along the beach road which is always a nice view) Our room had a large opening window overlooking the mountains and the pool. It was quiet, relaxing and the staff were friendly! Only con we had was that it was rather warm... More

The hotel was really well organized, people friendly and amenities quite good. On the down side, the pressure of showers was a bit low and internet was unusable but, hey!, you don't go to those places to stay connected on the internet all the time!! I honestly really liked it and the bar/dining was very decent. Very recommended if you... More

I assume that if you are visiting The Bay of Islands then you are going to be out and about most of the time so all you want from a hotel is for it to be clean and comfortable and this is. It could do with a bit of TLC but the staff are good and it is decent value.... More

Ok the good thing: it was close to the beach & shops. That's about it. Probably the most disappointing feature was that the place was understaffed and the poor staff working there seemed undertrained and unsupported. Reception wasn't able to provided much assistance at all and couldn't answer some pretty straightforward questions, such as what the weather would be, or... More

The room was big and comfortable, although could use a refurb/update. I think we had higher expectations with 'resort' in the name. While not beachfront, this hotel is located close to restaurants and the jetty making it handy for tours. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely and refreshing after a day of exploring.
