The Holiday Park is located conveniently for daytrips and has a nice outdoor area. The rooms and cabins are basic and there was quite some noise at night, if you like the camping ground atmosphere you won't mind. Bathroom facilities were okay, the kitchen that belonged to the cabins was nice and we liked that each cabin had a freezer... More

Hi over x20 years have stayed here x 5 times over xmas and easter using the campgrounds with our tent and the cabins for older/younger members of family not so into camping. The cabins have double bed/bunks and singles. Table/chairs/kettle. You share the toilet/shower block and the lovely kitchen set-up has your own locked cupboard with cooking goodies/cutlery/crookery. Also u... More

we stayed here for three nights in a campervan on Christmas. It's about 15 minutes walk to town amongst the bush. We found the owners very pleasant to talk to and very helpful with recommendations of what to do and where to go in the area. Showers and bathrooms were pristine. A great place to stay and explore the bay... More

Relaxing, well run, clean and plenty of space. Good for families, but also for those looking for some peace too. We only stayed one night on our journey to Cape Reinga but loved it to bits and will be back. Superb establishment and happy to thoroughly recommend to others.

We loved the Bay of Islands and would return to the area. This park was pretty, very green and handy for the beach, the staff were friendly, welcoming and offered some great advice to make the most of Paihia. The only downside was that it was quite a long way (about 5km) from Paihia itself, but the park has a... More

Just back from a 4 day school camp at the Bay of Islands Holiday Park. Lovely place, great set-up. Not many units to hire, which I would imagine to be a downside, but the one we stayed in was more than sufficient (clean, modern, comfortable). Only grumble was that the bunks let it down - modern unit with a set... More

Camp was spacious and not too busy when we stayed so we relaxed easily. Facillities were fine and good large shower and toilet block. Host was very helpful and we booked a boat trip for the following day with pick-up from site. Didn't have chance to walk down by river but that looked an attractive feature. Maybe a little more... We only left this Morning and wished we could have stayed longer. First impressions were of staff that were really really helpful and willing to help! Helped us with our excursion decisions, just when we checked in (Booking made from in UK, no problems) We arrived to find that the motor home had an awning but they had not supplied... More

Nice spot with a river flowing past that you can take a kayak for 20 minutes to a waterfall. Plenty of trees. Facilities a bit outdated and could do with some modernising. Downside was the rudeness and disrespect shown by host. Won't elaborate further but I have been to many camps and holiday spots and haven't experienced such insult to... More

We had a look at the sites closer to the sea (including one with the same name) but decided that we preferred the peace and tranquillity of this well maintained site to stay in our campervan. Nice spots to sit by river and plenty of trees. Incredibly tame birds and the important facilities very clean and spacious.
