I booked a room at Tarltons for part of our honeymoon trip and am so glad I did - Everything about this room was perfect from the private spa, nice furnishings, yummy breakfast, beautiful view - it could not be any better. Thanks Mike for your great hospitality and tips about what to see and where to eat around Paihia!!

Lovely, spacious room with own veranda and spa pool. Beautiful views over the Bay. Breakfast served on the veranda - delicious. Mike was very helpful with advice on what to do and see in the area. Easy drive down to Restaurants.

Upon arriving in New Zealand we wanted to see the Bay of Islands area and wanted the "best bang for our buck". We found it with Mike and Tarlton's Lodge. When we had looked up the accommodations 6 months previously, Mike was very pleasant on the phone and once we booked (didn't have to pay until arrival), he was very... More

We stayed at Tarlton's Lodge for 4 nights and were really reluctant to move on. The rooms are well laid out and equipped. Views over the Bay of Islands are spectacular. Breakfast served on our private balcony each morning was a real treat. The location is perfect for visiting Paihai, the Bay of Islands and Northland. Mike's attention to detail... More

We thoroughly enjoyed staying 2 nights at Tarlton's Lodge. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, thoughtful extras were included, like a variety of glasses, bath robes, tourist brochures. Sitting in the spa on a warm, balmy night overlooking the Bay of Islands with a glass of wine was perfect. Our room was quiet and private with our own entrance. Breakfast... More

Upon our arrival, he offered excellent tips on the local attractions and how to get around. There were two other couples right next to us during... More

Great views. Very well appointed. Great lounge chairs. A variety of wine glasses and even a champagne stopper! Fabulous base for the Bay of Islands. Mike's recommendations and advice were spot on. Really appreciated all aspects of this accommodation.

We began our New Zealand holiday at Tarlton's Lodge and could not have found a better place to do it. We stayed for three nights and were spoilt by Mike, our host. Such a friendly and helpful host. We had a delicious breakfast on our balcony each morning while taking in the most spectacular view. Mike was great to chat... More
