3rd time I have stayed at The Rocks and again very good value. Arrived from Auckland 6.30pm, no reservation and the owner was great. Suggested a Studio for NZD$99.00 inc GST and even offered me a complimentary beer. Check in took 2 minutes as all my details were in their system from last couple of times. Bed very comfortable and... More

My parents and I were coming to Napier to celebrate my sister's birthday so I booked the Family Studio 1 (2 Queen sized beds) At The Rocks and chose At The Rocks because the room came with a Spa Bath. We rang the Motorlodge about 4 hours after our estimated time of arrival to say we were still coming we... More

Stayed over Easter weekend. Checkin prompt & managers courteous Perhaps the smallest we stayed in but still had everything that we required. Even a nice private outdoor area But oh that window needs to go. Even though it is of a frosted type it lets in heaps of light when some goes to to the bathroom at night & forget... More

I have stayed in many hotels around the world and unfortunately this is by far the worst review I have ever had to give on Trip Advisor. Where to start? Over priced small room with an awful musty smell, paint chipping off in the bathroom with scum in the corner of the bath and on tiles, bulky furniture and dated... More

This review reflects more on the reviewer rather than the reviewed, our bathrooms are fully tiled with no painted surfaces, other than the roof and the door which are spray painted and in good condition. Our levels of cleanliness as seen from previous reviews are very high. Our carpets are cleaned every day and steam cleaned every three months. Each... More

At the Rocks is a cut above your average motel. We had a king studio with funky decor, a large bathroom with claw-foot bath, and a semi-private little deck at the back. I say "semi" as there is trellis between the decks so you can see your neighbours if you make a point of looking. It's in a handy location... More

Very nice place to stay, rooms nice, large and clean. Beds comfy and good size.ourroom (7) had a nice sun deck out the back. Wifi bit dodgy but works eventually, don't expect help with any problem with it though! Great restaurant within 5 mins walk(toward town on main road) called Estuary and a really good fish and chip shop about... More

my second time staying here. Still spotlessly clean and tidy, and just a short drive into Napier, or a short walk to the restaurant precinct at Ahuriri. Just a short walk behind the unit (about 200 mtrs) to a safe swimming beach.

The location of the Lodge is next to the sea on the Marine Parade. I walked across the road and was on the beach. Pleasant stay. The manager was helpful and we had a good sleep. Carpark was available, and heaps of cafes and restaurants nearby.

We stayed for 2 nights in a Studio Unit which was immaculately clean, spacious, lovely decor and had a large bathroom with a spa bath. It was close to the centre of Napier on Westshore with lovely areas to walk around the water and a number of eating places close by. This is one of the very best places we... More

Situated on the northern entry to Napier this property represents good value for money. It is clean and tidy and well maintained overall. Its location is not central so to get anywhere you will need a car. Free Wifi is offered (as it should be) so you get to avoid the gouging that some properties engage in. My only criticism... More
