Lovely room with balcony overlooking gardens and vineyard. Everything we needed, with good wifi and ample breakfast. Nice quiet location. Owners were happy to host a welcome drink with wine from their own vines, nicely convivial. One suggestion for improvement: the approach to the house itself is a bit scruffy and we worried momentarily whether we'd made a mistake, especially... More

Spent 3 days at Eileen's and Jes' lovely country house and enjoyed their hospitality. I own a bed and breakfast and really appreciate other professional innkeepers. These two do it really effortlessly and well. They have a comfortable, older home in a small vineyard, a short distance off the main highway yet just far enough away. We stayed in the... More

This B&B is situated off the main road in the middle of vineyards and surrounded by orchards, flowers and lawns. We stayed in the Sauvignon Suite which had a balcony overlooking the vineyard. This room was big enough to sleep a family of 3 as it had a twin bed in the tv room. The hosts were very friendly and... More

Our stay in Esk Valley Lodge was excellent. Our room was beautiful, with views down the garden towards the vineyard at the end. The bed, lounge and bathroom facilities were all top notch. The hosts - Eileen and Jes - were particularly nice and welcomed us with a wine and nibbles reception when we arrived, recommended us places to eat... More

We recently stayed with Jes and Eileen at their Esk Valley Lodge. We received a warm greeting by both of them and immediately felt at home. The lodge has a great living room downstairs that overlooks a beautiful garden and vineyard. They offered us wine every evening with a lovely conversation. Breakfast in the morning was consisted of fresh fruit,... More

Thank you for your kind words and we are pleased you enjoyed your meals. We hope you were not too sore after your cycle trip around the vineyards and that you enjoyed the good Hawkes Bay wines and that the rest of your honeymoon went fantastically! More

While visiting the Hawkes Bay for a business trip I decided to sweet talk my husband into coming with me. We stayed in the Esk Valley Lodge and could not have picked a better place to stay. Jes and Eileen were warm, welcoming and ready with a wine and a lovely hot fire blazing on our arrival. The attention to... More

Located in the middle of a beautiful Vineyard, this B&B is just immaculate. Jess adn Eileen met us on arrival and showed us to our quarters. After the first night, I wanted to take the matress home, it was so comfortable. We slept with the windows open letting the scents of the vinyard into the room. There was hardly a... More

In a month travelling around New Zealand, staying in B&Bs, this was one of the two very best we found. The setting is beautiful, tucked in the valley and surrounded by acres of vines from which hosts Jes and Eileen make their own wine. Indeed, so much of what you enjoy here is produced on the premises – jams and... More
