No praise can be too high for the welcome and comfort provided by Rayma and Phillip at their beautiful home. Unfortunately, My wife and I spent only one night at the Cobden Garden Homestay. It is unfortunate because by far this was one of the best places we stayed at during our three weeks in New Zealand. Perfect place to stay in Napier, very comfortable rooms and really nice hosts. You will need a car if you are to stay here - it is a good 25 - 30 minute walk from downtown - but it also means you aren't piled up on top of all the tourists down by the beach. more

This rating is my fault -- I was lazy and picked the downstairs room after I was offered an upstairs room. The shower/bath in this room drove me nuts -- it was an old fashioned faucet without a mixing valve. So your choices were hot or cold water but no warm -- great for a bath but lousy for a... more

Phil and Rayma Jenkins operate Cobden Garden Homestay in Napier, which was one of the B&Bs we stayed in during our recent driving tour of New Zealand.
