“Friendly, comfortable, convenient”

There is two rooms here - we had the ensuite room - the other has its own bathroom but is not ensuite. Parking is at the door although turning round to get down the hill is a bit of a challenge. Ruth was very helpful and provided concise directions on how to find them. The room is very comfortable indeed... More

The Green House is the best B&B I've ever stayed at. Ruth was so friendly and accommodating--she picked me up and dropped me off for my bus rides. We loved this place, perched at the top of a hill with great views and were lucky enough to stay with Ruth and Gerry during the Art Deco Festival. Our best accommodation by far on our recent NZ adventure. Ruth couldn't do enough to make us comfortable in her lovely home and yes, we really did wish we had stayed longer! The accommodation is first class as is the breakfast.....you won't be disappointed. More

In a sequence of several B&B in NZ this was the best! Very clean, nice rooms, near to city, but last not least a friendly host, who made a perfect breakfeast with organic bits and pieces. Even when we left some lugage, she send it to our next destination. thank you very much for that, Ruth.Just back again in Germany... More

Beautiful location in woodland yet somehow within 400 metres of art deco centre we drove our car up to our room which had everything we needed. Nothing pretentious but great for one night or several. Felt very relaxed Ruth was friendly and full of good advice. Downside? If you walk down the town it's a steep climb back. More

We stayed with Ruth in October 2011. Green House on the Hill is a lovely house with a great garden where we enjoyed a fabulous home cooked breakfast each morning.
