What can I say about this hotel? It made me feel glum. The weather was particularly terrible when we stayed here and we had to get up early at 6am to avoid a sub-tropical storm which obviously the hotel had no control over. Every room has a sea view but it was cold and a bit noisey. I am the... more

We stayed here for one night as part of our honeymoon trip around NZ. The restaurant was being renovated during our stay so we weren't able to eat there in the evening, but overall we found the hotel to be comfortable, with good sized rooms, good standard of cleanliness and convenient off-road parking. There's great sea views from the rooms.... more

Excellent location very close to most of the Art Deco buildings; all rooms overlook the sea. The rooms are standard hotel rooms, but bigger than the European standard. There are free standing air conditioning units in the rooms, why oh why was central air conditioning not installed in a hotel that opened in 2003? We stayed a Saturday night in... more

We originally tried to book a small boutique hotel but this was full as it was the weekend of the Art Deco Festival in Napier. We weren't sure what to expect from this hotel but found it to be very good. Our room was on level 5 so we had sea views, although the views from the lower rooms could... more

We stayed for 2 nights and had a fabulous sea view from our room. The first night we were on the ground floor and the shower was a wet room but part of the bathroom. The room was designed for someone with a disability. On showering, the whole of the bathroom floor covered with water which meant that you had... more

After checking in I went to my superior room which appeared to have been cleaned. However, on checking I found hairs and nail clippings in the bath. I asked housekeeping to reclean and the maid arrived and removed the hairs and clippings by hand and I had to ask her to actually cleanse the bath which she thought was a... more

I liked this place more than I expected - we tried to get in to the more highly rated hotels but they were either full or not prepared to accept a single night booking (it was New Year Day). The hotel is modern, light and airy and the room well-proportioned. The views out onto the Pacific were a real treat.... more

This hotel was clean, but there were some issues. First, it was freezing and we had no idea how to turn on the heater or if there was one. Second, the shower curtain blew into the shower while I was showering and that is an absolute no-no for me! The service was good and the staff was helpful and friendly. more

We stayed here just one night to view the Art Deco town. The town itself is beautiful, altho we were slightly disappointed as the town is made out that every building is Art Deco this is not correct, whilst there are a good few examples, there are also your conventional seaside resort cafes and tourist shops. We would recommend a... more

We drove into Napier with no hotel booked so did a drive by this one and thought the location was lovely. The room was fine however we realised our mistake at bedtime as the main road that the hotel sits on is the road that leads to the port and we were kept awake most of the night by semi... more
