We loved our overnight stay in Napier and our one hour Art Deco town tour. Our room on the four floor had a wonderful view and was spacious. I realise beds are a matter of taste but our room had two doubles when we would prefer a Queen and they were too soft for our tastes or sleeping comfort. The... More

This hotel is just off the centre and facing the sea front with all rooms with a sea view. We had an end room with double aspect. Perfect. The hotel is furnished in the art deco style and very tasteful.

We had a lovely room (two double beds) which provided great views over the ocean, and was very comfortable. However, we were told to go into breakfast at a set time (not what we are used to). The hotel was full and had one of the world cup cricket teams staying, and gave them priority on everything. One of the... More

Lovely room with a fantastic view with full windows on 2 of the walls so we had great viewa over the beach front which was brightly lit at night. the fountain near by changing colour every few seconds. Good breakfast too . very comfortable and clean and friendly . All you could want from a hotel in the lovely art... More

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights during our New Zealand tour. It's located on the seafront and a few minutes walk from the main shopping and restaurants area. There are a few large trees between the hotel and the beach but the view from our fourth floor room was not that obscured but I could... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during the Napier Art Deco weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, only wishing that we could have stayed longer. Our room on the 6th floor was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed, and being on the top floor afforded a wonderful sea view. Being picky the only downside was it seemed... More

On check-in we were greeted by a receptionist who was not having the happiest of days – a smile would have gone a long way. However it was quick and off to the third floor for our amazing sea view room. On entering we struggled to find the sea…yes, it’s in front of you but you have to battle through... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am sorry you felt that your view was obscured by trees. I am afraid there are trees on the waterfront across the road from the Hotel. These are icons of Napier and can not be removed. I can assure you all but the ground floor rooms... More

We struck unlucky with this hotel as our fourth floor room overlooked the seafront but we could not see it because of a large tree right outside our window. Pillows and mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable. Our room was supposedly a superior room but it did not feel like it - we would have preferred one king bed to two... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am sorry that you were unhappy with our signature bedding. The scenic Hotel Group is New Zealand owner and operated and we feature feather and wool toppers on the beds and goosedown and wool pillows. Regarding the tree obscuring your view, it is a Pohutakawa, these... More

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and all amenities available that you would expect from this standard of hotel. Service was warm and welcoming. We did not eat at the restaurant but the menu did look inviting (especially the goat curry). The view was great and as prior dog owners it was wonderful... More

within easy walking distance of most areas of the unique town it is modern with clean lines, light and airy. Lots of parking. Rooms overlooking the ocean were quite large and well appointed. We had only breakfast in the dining room which was good. All the staff were helpful and pleasant. We would recommend it and would liked to have... More
