We stayed for 2 nights after reading TA reviews. We didn't use the communcal areas. just as somewhere to rest our head. Positives: Good location near old port/quay. 30 minute walk to Napier CBD. Friendly hosts. Large outdoor area for BBQs. Negatives: Quite noisy. Shared bathrooms not very well mataintained. Car park only for campervans, although not full during our... More

We are disappointed that your stay was not totally satisfactory, as you say in the review, it was a very busy weekend with lots of people coming and going.Unfortunately, only one towel was put in the room, but all you needed to do was ask and we would have gladly provided more towels. More

Nothing is too much trouble and Irene really makes you feel at home. Loads to do in the area and loads to do in the backpackers too. Slept like a log. It great to be able to cook in a big space and everything needed is available. Go to the Opossum shop and see the singing possums when you visit.... More

Booked in on line. Haven't done much back packing for a while and was concerned we would be in the age of being the oldest here. No need for concern. A huge age range with freedom campers, tourists and backpackers all melded together. A great facility with a large social area inside and outside with a very large blow up... More

Wonderful hosts, wonderful place to stay. Our team stayed here for 5 nights during secondary schools tournament week. We felt very welcomed and very much "at home". Comfortable, clean rooms, good bathroom facilities, cosy large lounge room with fireplace, large tv, games, dvds, books, table tennis, wi fi, the list goes on. Large well equipped, clean kitchen. We just can't... More

The living area is massive with 2 sofa areas a log burner a TV in one sofa area and a projector in the other area kept very clean with lots of comforts like pillows and blankets and the giant... We stay in backpacker's a lot and often look at reviews before deciding to stay somewhere. My partner manages a successful backpackers in NZ. We were really disappointed with the double room we were in. The mattress really needed replacing it was very dipped in the middle. It was also really noisy the second night we stayed and the sound... More

This backpackers is right in-front of the port enjoyed staying over here as there were lots of bars and restaurant around the port. Its bit away from Napier town. Beds are awesome, people are chill. Kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment. would definitely stay here again.

I was only here for 1 night but everything seemed to be pretty average for a hostel in New Zealand. I had everything I needed. Seemed like everyone was pretty chill as well. The bathrooms could be upkept a little better, but everything was generally clean. No complaints here.
